Farming part I to make larges is insane at 10 to 1 and still a bit nutty at 5 to 1. In the time it would take you to farm enough small scales to make a large scale, you could run the whole thing several times and have multiple larges for your trouble.

That said, I still don't think it's a good idea. The current system seems pretty much right to me - if you want to craft the best stuff, you need to take the time to do it. Grinding out the shroud is much better than grinding out harvesting resource nodes in other games - and spending some time getting to know the other high-level players on the server is never a bad thing. The Shroud is so often pugged that it's more of a forced meet-up at this point than anything else.

No because you would do both , a lot of people do this already on the off chance of getting a large from stage 4 .

I personally think that there should not be any trading up for a larger ingredient. But, I do think ingredients should be able to be traded or combined for another ingredient of the same size.

I brought up the subject before:

Haste , Stoneskin and True Resurection , Panacea , Summon Elemental , Displacement clickies are hard to have too many off ( some you may only need 1 or 2 for but still).
Well, First impression is to say /not signed... I find having plenty small/mediums very useful for things like above (Clickies of Raised dead can be a lifesave...)
