lol I ran that exact same chrono 2 hours ago!

This is one raid where the old "accept whoever hits the LFM" strategy is an impending fail every time. This raid needs either a group of random extremely well geared and skilled players or a very good party composition. Miss either and it's fail city.

We had a good group earlier actually but the lagmonster was just too much. We wouldn't even see the red dragon form and then DING DING DING DING DING half the party is dead and THEN she turns into the dragon. Nice.

No-Yes-No (which is one of the reasons I consider this raid such a design success). This raid really does not need exceptional gearing or a precise party composition. What it does need is skilled players, people that know how to listen and can <gasp> react in a timely manner to what is happening on screen. I've seen plenty of gimpy but well played toons walk through this quest and, especially when it came out, plenty of well-equipped monsters completely suck it up because they have no strategy/twitch. Thus, successful quest design, from my perspective.

What he said, though when we bring our "best" toons is is admitedly easier it still goes fine with the C-Team.

My friend lead a PUG of this on Sarlona the other day to show me, was great, perfect and smooth.

You guys are welcome to come to Sarlona and be schooled on how to lead a pug if you like?

jokes, no, we aint teachin you our secrets,

jokes again, ok, maybe we might.

    Default Yay!

I have been waiting to run this...I have pug'd this twice both successful runs. I don't have the best knowledge of epics but join them to get the experience. If possible and based on the time(s) selected I would like to fill a DPS slot.....or I could bring my FvS. Which ever works for the group I'll do.

I saw the mostly-CC one the other night w/ Diuni in it - jealous.

    Macksheen - fighter2/bard18
    Unforged - wiz20
    Tunguska - monk20
    Hoomun - monk2/cleric18
    Hexie - rogue20

Late Sunday and Monday EST are pretty solid times for me to be available.

    Woot, Soth!

Ok, added you guys in tentatively, made 2 sets to easier sort who's bringing what. Awesome that some people can bring more than one, hopefully the timing will work out well.

voodoogroves, your Unforged has 38+ enchant DC right? Was it more like 40?

    Irnis,

I almost have Aedificatus up to level now....thanks to the pizza cats, when he gets there I can fill the gimped arcane/piker spot.

Also, just an FYI, he is now flagged for abbot (he isn't flagged for crud else though)

    Ah don't be jealous.
That was the one that got blasted by the lag monster Dingle mentioned.

(At least I hope it was that one and not the other one he mentioned that was gimptastically fail. )
BONGO FURY - Ghallanda - Thingfish - Wizard, Diuni - Ninja, Gheale - Angel, Dullknife - Tank, Noodlefish - Gimp, Jaquaby - Treacherous and other gimps.

Truth is this is one of the longer raids so I try to pug it as little as possible. Id rather not end up with a person who cant pull their own weight for 25 - 45 minutes (no comment on anyone in particular). These days most of the invites I make are made by extension, for example friend of a friend or friend of friend of friend.. etc gets invited to fill a spot. I now keep 4 toons on timer .. all run the same day. Also recently, some player groups have come of age (lvl 20 and now brash enough to click invites) that rather make me a little hesitant to even put up an lfm. Shroud hound and vod are still in the pug green zone fortunately (though my pugs are always wacked out just for ro )

As far as the raid if a static doesnt show and I'm off timer and not running it for some reason send a tell I may be unoccupied.

10:30EST or later is best for me based off my work schedule. However currently I am having some PC issues with the parts currently being shipped and the earliest I'll receive them is Monday.

I'll keep you posted as to what is going on.

I'll need to check. High 30s for sure sustainable, 40 would be tossing down some short-term buffs. I've been mostly getting Macksheen ready to TR and moving around gear for Unforged. If we need a holder, I can make sure he comes with enough oomph for that.

I've got some friends who may be interested as well but don't forum-much. I'll ask them when I chat with them this weekend. One is kinda new and only has a Sorc20 blaster at cap. The other has a DPS-type and a cleric20 at cap.

Do we run Epic Chrono? Yes.
Do we PUG it? No. Guild/Channel runs.

Looks like we have a core group covering the important roles and might end up pugging out 2-3 dps spots. I'm fine with that, might actually be better than a full group of 12. Is everyone ok with Monday at 11pm?

voodoogroves, if your friend's sorc has the DCs on mass hold you're welcome to bring a dps instead in order to include them. Got a pm from someone with a healer and a dps, is that your other friend or did we have even more interest?

I'm only anticipating trouble at the end fight. The other fights are not that hard with a good caster and decent group. Lag monster can really kill us at the end fight fast, so I'm hoping that time works better than the times Stoolcannon and I were running before, lol.

My husband and I would like to run epic Chronosphere if you still have the open slots. We have not done it on epic before.

I have a capped rogue Hydrangea for a DPS slot and my husband has a capped monk Nightlily.

I also have a capped bard and will have a capped fvs in the next week or two if you ever need backups for those slots.

    Thanks.

Wow Soth, suprised by this one. hah. Well, i did 4 chorno's a night for 2 weeks and tanked every single time, excluding timers.. so about 10-15 runs in total.. lemme say its not just about tumbleing under everytime, and although i prefer my intim tank due to i barely take damage from him on anything other then a 1 on reflex to fire, its very possible to tank on a barb, which is what i was doing. 30%healing amp barb = 20% crafted on kyosho's and a 10% airship.. on a half orc heals scrolls keep me up most the time fine, gear id consider your tank to have is bracers of the glacier , firestorm greaves, and a s*** load of hp. at this point if all gear is set up right my barb can take two fire shots from full hp and live. although i prefer jumping over his head and only taking 1 shot if any. I suggest finding someone well geared, with decent healing amp, and or an immaculate tank otherwise this will bone you everytime.

P.S i remember back in the pugging days when we had to do tod's like this posted on the forums, now we do 5 guild tod's a week, glad to see your finding a static group because once you do it a month or 2, youll get it down to a science and probably go through 0-4 mana pots per run as we do.Best of luck with your groups.
