    Default Bolt Clip

This is in the 3.5 player's handbook, and for maybe... 50 or 100 TP, I bet a lot of people would buy those to turn their Light and Heavy Crossbows into Light and Heavy Repeating Corssbows

Could be useful for a lot of mechanics, since Repeaters are hard to be found in chests and most of the Crossbows with nice enhancements are plain ones

    So... Update 9 material?

Meh... not many uses for this. If anything what we would see is some power 5 weapons and some very limited weapon selection such as the Storm upgraded.

Bolt clip is what you use on the repeater, is not a different item.

    ^ this

the only difference is that it's 3 shots per clip, not like something rediculous of 25

    /signed.

I love the idea of tinkering with toys.

    ...

I wonder if - for balance reasons - it should be a one-way road, maybe entailing a binding ritual along the way, or if you could just use a conversion kit of some kind and assemble/disassemble your xbow freely.

    ...

Lore-wise, it is a bit more complicated than just retrofitting the mechanism to accept a clip - you also have to attune it to the previous enchantment, so they work together as one.

    ...

    But, all in all, signed.
This so brings me back to Jagged Alliance 2...

the problem with converting a crossbow to a repeater is it cant be done. that would be like converting a flint lock to a repeater rifle.

Aw, come on... stop comparing D&D(O) to real life, and even worse, guns

I don't really know, like what Don wrote, about the bolt clip being just a tool to reload the Repeater, but if you can turn a dead locust, some squirrel fur and some gems togheter to make a greensteel great axe, why can't we combine these things to make a repeating crossbow?... In a stone of change and all, like Daniel said, attuning it and stuff

There's however, a magic item that helps you reload a clip, but what d&d book it was escapes my memory.

i compare it to guns because that is what a crossbow is, minus the gunpowder.

a regular crossbow is a stick with a bow on it. a repeating crossbow is a crossbow with a box on it(clip) said box is part of the bow cant be detached. but if your going to invoke the stone of change then i should be able to change my short bow into a crossbow or repeater.

i forgot, the box is what you use to pull the bowstring back not a crank.
