it's been a while since i joined a hox pug because i only need 1 more to get my 40th and aiming for 60 isn't worth the headache for me (and glana is too lazy to run it to 40)

when i create my hox pug i always ask this to people who i do not know "please tell me your role on hox?". i really don't care if i offend people with it but i have never accepted anyone who i do not know who can't give me a definite answer to that

maybe it helps that i'm an intimitank and my glana is a cleric but even with this setup, we really had some bad, even horrible, hox memories so i am really choosy on who i take on that raid

I find it somewhat weird that people use bards as "the charmer" - anyone can do it! seriously!
But then I also don't really like to do it on my melees with madstone boots because people rarely remember to remind me to take off my boots and if I get madstoned, I can't charm

Main reason for hound wipes is that there's four people that do something and the rest pike and never bother to learn the quest and if something goes wrong, there's usually no one to fix it.

Its not always a disaster. One can snatch it from the JAWS of defeat through good communication and clear instructions.
This is one raid where if i`m leading i really have to use a mic, supplemented by typed instructions.

I realized why your success rate is only 50% when you think you need a intimitank, and only a bard can use stones.

Failures in pugged Hound runs are due to poor leadership.

    It's as simple as that.

Devs: Thanks for making Druids available to VIPs without the pack. This more than anything, has made me want to buy the pack.

It's not just you and it's not just Sarlona. I'm on Argo and I gave up on doing Hound unless I recognize people in the raid.

This is simply not true. You can really grief someone in HoX if you want to. You can also get plenty of pugs who ignore instructions and pick up stones and will not speak up when asked who grabbed the stone..

agreed. if you think that failed hox = bad leadership, then you simply haven't run it enough times

Horse hockey. Except for stupid mistakes (like having Run already on when you drop in) and intentional griefing, Hound is EASY and on NORMAL, should NEVER fail as long as the quest leader knows what he's doing and does a good job in explaining the quest to newbs and makes it clear what's expected of everyone.

Oh, and MajinSensei...Please don't take offense but honestly, I've run more Hounds then you'll EVER run.

@neutron: i understand your point but i have lead a few hox on sarlona and there have been a lot of cases where you said and type commands like don't go in with mobs, don't kill pups but people still do them and screws the raid like luring beholders, not killing the mobs in the middle when 3 people are shouting/typing them to do it so i honestly don't believe that a failed hox = bad leadership.

i have asked a few questions before to make sure that the person understand english and in the end, i found that this question is the best to ask "please tell me your role on hox" and it really lessened my failed hox but i only found that out when I am near my 40th run
