Another Pale Master Solo of VoD (Normal)

It took me three tries, but I finally did it. The first time I ran out of Spell Points at the time the traps were spinning around, so I decided to Dimension Door back to the shrine to top off. Oops!! The second time I watched my Spell Points even better and kited Suulo around for an hour or two necroblasting him as we ran in circles. Note for Pale Masters. Necroobolt didn't affect him but Necroblast did. At the end when every thing popped out, I died. The third time I started by kiting him around until the Barbazu's emerged. At that point I used Mass Suggestion and let them fight it out. Of course, I was really bored by this time and chugged some SP pots and blasted away at him just to get it over with. I chugged a few more at the end fight just in case so I wouldn't have to start it all over again. I ended up using the spell points, but I was definitely over-healing myself.

What was your final completion time?

I'd been thinking about this myself, but with basically no way to deal significant damage to him over his entire HP without essentially nuking stacks of Majors, I'd kind of given up on the idea. I don't have the patience to do this just for the sake of doing it if it's going to take more than an hour.

Necro Bolt wouldn't hurt him because it counts as a level 3 spell, and he has immunity to level 4 spells and below, while Necro Blast counts as a level 5 spell.

Just using Necroblasts takes forever. I had to do that however until the Barbazu popped up since I couldn't Mass Suggest the Orthons. Once that was done, I just had to toss out a Mass Suggest whenever the old Barbazu died and new ones showed up. I don't think I killed a single Barbazu, just the initial orthons and the bats when they emerged. The barbazu did all the rest. Once they show up, don't keep on hitting him though. This gets his agro and forces you to cast displacement and heal yourself instead of sitting back and enjoying the show.

I love those Undead Archers. They made it all possible! Undead Archers + Concordant Opposition + PM = Win



He actually didn't do that much damage since the Boon of Undeath, Lich Form, and Concordant Opposition kept my Sp and Hp up and going. I am glad I put three tiers of Adamantine Rituals on the Robe, and even then it was close to being broken.

I only did it on norm because I remembered it being much harder the first few times I did it with a group.

whats your enchantment dc? I just did the vod on normal and the hardest part I had was landing a charm lol. my dc is a 41, and they saved all over the place.

My Enchantment DC is 40, so your DC is higher than mine since I only have 1 Spell Focus in Enchantment and no +2 exceptional intelligence item yet. I don't try to Charm them though. Mass Suggestion works much better for me. The Orthons are immune, but the Barbazu were hit quite often with the Mass Suggestion. If you were using the same thing I was, you might just have had an unlucky run with them making their saves. One thing though, try to get as many as possible in your spell circumference so you don't have to cast it as often. One thing I do want to try is Augment Summoning feat, then mass bulls, bears, haste, and rage on em and let em go

And I have to admit, Pale Master's are wonderful. The self healing aura and high hit points combined with Necroblast makes this guy really shine. Combine that with the Concordant Opposition items and Epic Robe & Cloak and he can go a long time before needing SP. Hopefully you will have as much fun with yours as I have had with mine.

ya I can get my PM DC actually to a 44 Self buffed, but maybe they changed vod a little idk when did you solo it? they were saving like crazy on me lol I literally had to danceball them neg level them then charm lol. and My spell pen isn't hte issue just the dc for some reason... maybe your right maybe I was horribly unlucky lol

It was only a couple of weeks ago. I tried Mass Charm Monster a different time without much success, so used Mass Suggestion instead and had great success. Which spell were you using? Then again, maybe I had a lucky run and you had an unlucky one *gives more offerings to the DDO Dice Gods*

Now that I look back at the Pic, I notice something odd. It says 66 monsters killed, but 17 killed by me and 16 by misadventure makes 33. How in the world did they come up with that? Did the bats not count?

Did A New Invasion a couple weeks ago and we were waiting inside for someone to arrive for a few minutes when we noticed that the kill count was going up. Apparently the cube on the second floor was active and eating. Registered 7 or 8 kills before we started moving; Misadventure: 3. No idea what that's about.
