having some lag issues on my end

ok im having some issues with lag on my end. I will be playing just fine and then everything freezes. I will either be hanging in midair, or stuck on the ground unable to move, when the freeze ends i rubber band about 5 secs, often into a bunch of mobs. this has lead to several deaths and made me scared to go on raids/epics.

I dont believe this is server lag, though that could contribute to it, so im looking for some ideas of where to look to fix this. Is it my pc, or perhaps my modem?

Options>UI settings>'show Network status display' will give you the real-time ping and loss stats in a tooltip that appears when you hover over the icon to help determine if it is network-related.
