Default Have Any PM's Tanked TOD part 2?

    Hey all.

Just curious if any PM's have just run the Shadows in TOD pt 2 back and forth though firewalls rather than kite them around the room
I'm thinking with the 2 auras going, as well as NEB for spot heals, Fireshield, 45% Cold Reduction shroud item etc it shouldn't be too hard. It would be on Normal or Hard, (I'n guessing elite would be a "run away as fast as you can" idea)

Mainly curious if you can actually kill the shadows or if I'm simply going to have 6-8 (or more) overlapping cold auras that will end up doing enough damage to kill me.

I don't know about PM's. However, I have seen warforged "tank" them by simply putting some firewalls on the stairs, choosing a comfy spot away from the part and then simply stand there and take it.

Using fireshield, cold absorption Shroud item, cold resist (30) and the icy pots from the Risia games you can mitigate the damage down to ~30 a tick. I wouldn't see a reason a PM shouldn't be able to heal through it.

One thing to keep in mind when using the tanking method; you take damage every time you enter the aura of a shadow. So, standing still often works better here than frantically running around.

No matter what side of the argument you are on, you always find people on your side that you wish were on the other.

Really? I'd never really paid attention to how the shadows work,(usually on a melee) so if they stand in one spot you'd actually take less than continually entering/leaving auras. good to know. Thanks!

Might have to try that tonight then. (Just have to find me some icy pots)

The cold damage aura from the shadows is like blade barrier. You take the damage when entering/exiting the radius of the effect.

Tanking the shadows on normal difficulty is feasible. However, it doesn't scale for hard and elite difficulties. There are simply too many shadows, and they deal considerably more damage (even with all that cold absorb you listed). So why learn it one way on normal and then another on hard/elite? Use normal to perfect your kiting skills for harder difficulties.
