I am not sure where to place this type of thread. I decided that my server would be best.
Twas the Night Before Questing
Twas the night before questing, when all through the guild
Not a creature was stirring, not even a rogue-build
The weapons were hung in the armory with care
With the hopes of rare loot would still be there.
The Halflings were nestled all snuggled in their beds,
While Visions of Destruction danced in their heads.
The healer had communed and wizard rested
We dreamed that we couldn’t be bested.
When out in the dungeon arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my cot to see what was the matter.
Away to the entry I flew like a flash,
I drew my sword to see what I could slash.
The crystals and rocks with the mushroom glow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to the objects below.
When, what to my wandering eye should appear,
But a group of hill giants, a boss and a seer.
With a little old kobold, so lively and quick,
I knew from before, it was Boss Jittik.
He was still alive as I bowed my head in shame
I swore and cursed myself by every other name
“You moron! You idiot! You are dumb and so stupid!
Come on! I’m such a noob that even I had missed it!”
I moved back, closer to the wall
Hoping I hadn’t erred and that they hadn’t seen me at all!
I was glad I had boots of striding so that I could fly,
Back to my comrades to tell them why,
We must be ready and are not scared
If we are discovered, we must be prepared.
I ran quickly back to my troops,
All the way giving thanks to my boots,
I awoke them all despite their chagrin,
And told them of the trouble we could be in.
They all got dressed in their armor, from head to foot
Some were tarnished with ashes and soot,
Which is typical of dps’er’s like barbarians and intimi-tanks.
But they do their job with or without a word of thanks.
We were ready to do battle or to harry,
To defend or, if needed, to parry.
The ranger was ready with an arrow in his bow
To let the missile loose in the mushroom glow.
The rogue had rapiers in his hands and a dagger in his teeth.
The halfling was ready to wound the enemy from beneath.
We didn’t realize at the time that it was silly,
When someone in the group asked for more jelly.
The wizard was unknown to me but hoped that being an elf,
That he would be ready to defend the group including myself.
A wink from his eye and twist from his head,
Made me wonder, “what the…?” and gave me dread.
He spoke not a word but began his spell work,
and hoped he wasn’t a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, from his body, magic’s arose.
We sprang on the enemy with such might
That they were given such a fright!
I heard an exclaim, ‘ere the enemy ran out of sight,
“Happy Questing to All, And to All a Good Fight!
