What's the catch with this weapons? I just keep reading that they were nerfed a time ago, but I don't know how.

OK, my understanding is: you lower the mob CON, so you do a lot of damage (less CON = less HPs) and if it's not dead, at some point you... kill them at 0 CON? or put them helpness for more autocrit funness?

Looking at the prices of this kind of weapons in the AH, it's sure that they are good (not seen one for less than a million in Thelanis) XD

Once a monster's con reached zero, they used to die instantly. Now they are stunned and auto-critted. Same effect, just takes longer to occur.

If you put icy burst on a w/p rapier or pick they can be pretty good weapons on trash mobs but a DPS greensteel weapon will still kill most monsters faster.

A while back, dropping a mob to 0 Con killed it instantly. Some creatures might have thousands of HP, but only a 30-40 Con, making WoP weapons extremely deadly. The Devs decided this was too inconvenient for them, so they changed it so that having a 0 Con only temporarily stunned a mob, putting it into an auto-crit status. They also decided to give many mobs resistance to stat damage, around 90% or more in Epic difficulty. A WoP is still useful at mid to high levels, but after a certain point, they are only useful in a handful of situations. You may see them listed for high prices, but I doubt many people are paying that much for them. Personally, I think a Weakening of Enfeebling weapon is more useful now.
