Looking to roll a tr as a half elf, but am thinking of taking one dile for the first half of his life and swapping to another the second half. I thought I saw something in the release notes about it, but wondered if anyone has confirmed...

Yes they are. I did not do it, but when I was at Fred the last time, I did notice that the dilettante feats were available to be swapped with other dilettante feats that you would have had available at level 1. All of them require 13 in a specific stat. Using a tome shouldn't affect the ability to take a different dilettante feat.

From what it sounds like on the release notes, you were able to swap dile feats for normal feats through Fred, this is what they fixed and can no longer be done.

Cool good to know about the stats. Ill have 15 and 18 in the two stats needed so it wont be a problem but its good info nonetheless.

Gotcha. I thought at one point they werent swapable, maybe that was on one of the preview versions. I dont know many people with h-elfs so my experience is nil

At first they weren't swappable at all, then they were swappable, but if you chose fighter dil, you could switch it for any feat BUT another dill. Now the swapping works, dilletante for dillie, so long as you have the 13 in the stat you need, tome/levelup/base.

I swapped FvS for Fighter on my Half Elf. So, I know it does work.

Can you start with a stat at 11, add a +2 tome at level 7 and then switch to a Dil that requires 13 in that stat?

Unless something changed between the last version of Update 8 on Lamannia and the live version of U8 then you should be able to do this. I rolled up a 1 Rogue/3 Ranger with the Fighter Dill and a 12 WIS, ate a +1 tome and was able to swap it out for the Monk Dill.
