    Default Concept Build "Ninjutsu Kaze"

Hi I've been working on a concept built involving Ninja Spy and Short Swords. I'm not aiming for top DPS so please don't flame me for using shorts swords... XD I know fist are the way to go for a monk and guess what? We're building a ninja, who ever saw a punching and kicking ninja? we're suppost to use Ninjatos! (in this case the closest resemblence.. "The Short Sword"). Puffing smoke (Shadow fade) XD. So we're going to be at most times in windstance, hence the term "kaze" (meaning wind).
But don't get me wrong, it may be a concept build but it still packs a punch. I've tested it and it works wonders in soloing and party groups.
    Here's my concept build:

    The Ninjutsu
    (Drow Male Fighter 12/Monk 7/Rogue 1)

    Stats:
    Str 16 (40=16 +5 Levels +3 Tome +3 Enh. +6 Item +2 Rage +2 Stnce +8 PS)
    Dex 16 (28=16 +2 Tome +2 Enh. +6 Item +2 Stnce)
    Con 14 (24=14 +3 Tome +1 Enh. + 6 Item)
    Int 10 (12=10 +2 Tome)
    Wis 12 (20=12 +2 Tome +6 Item)
    Cha 10 (12=10 +2 Tome +6 Item)

    Level Progression:
    1-Rogue
2 thru 8 -Dark Monk (Get that ninja spy and Smoke bomb a.k.a. Shadow fade ASAP)
    9 thru 20 -Fighter

Skills: (6 per level - Monk) (2 per level - Fighter)
UMD - max rogue level (1 Skill Points Monk Level)
Hide - max rogue level (1 Skill Point Fighter and Monk Level)
Move Silently - max rogue level (1 Skill Point Fighter and Monk Level)
Tumble - max rogue level (1 Skill Points Fighter and Monk Level)
    Lockpicks - max rogue level

    Feats:
    1-Toughness
    2-Dodge
    2-TWF (Monk Feat)
    3-Mobility
    6-IC Peircing
    9-ITWF
    10-Weapon Focus Piercing (Fighter Feat)
    10-Spring Attack
    12-GTWF (Fighter Feat)
    14-Weapon Specialization Piercing (Fighter Feat)
    15-Power Attack
16-20 (Basically You got what you wanted... you may play around...)

    HP:
    184(Levels) +20(Heroic) +10(Draconic) +30(GFL) +140(Con) +20(Minos) +22(Tough) +30(Enh.) +45(GS)=501
    Enhancements:
    Fighter Haste Boost II
    Rogue Sneak Attack Training I
    Rogue Faster Sneak I
    Elf Toughness II
    Fighter Toughness II
    Fighter Strength III
    Kensai II
    Ninja Spy I
    Adept of Wind I
    Weapon Specialization Short Sword II
    Signature Weapon Short Sword I
    Drow Weapons II

... and other enhancements that fit your style

    AC
    10 Base
    1 Dodge feat
    4 Icy Raiments Dodge
    1 Alchemical Dodge
    2 Marbar Cloak
    8 Dexterity
    5 Wisdom
    2 Monk Bonus
    4 Insight (Shroud Crafted)
    5 Protection
    8 Armor Bracers
    50 (Standing AC)

    Incorporeality/Concealment/Blur
25% - Shadow Fade ( Stacks with others ... rumor)
    10% - Marbar Cloak (Doesn't Stack)
    20% - Shroud (Doesn't Stack)
    50% - Displacement (Doesn't Stack)

    Hide/Move Silently Skill:

    20/20 (Base) +11/+15 (Dustless boots) +5/+5 (Marbar Cloak) +8 (Dex) + 6 (Shroud)= 54/50

Basically the concept is your in shadow fade 24/7 - Stealth KILL mobs, shadow fade again.. tumble around.
When low on HP run... Stealth... regen KI (Ninja Spy Skill) ... self heal (Wholeness of Body) and repeat Sequence...

IMO Works best with the NEW "VAMPIRIC FURY SHORT SWORDS"!!!
We'll thats all... got to go .... thanks for reading... XD

why drow as a tr1 (you don't mention tr1 but i figured since you spent 30 buildpoints that its a tr1)...
    Thelanis - Inferus Sus
Keeper Refugee - Exclusively playing Warforged
Nursing IsFutile (FvS) - Unorthodox Behaviour (Kensai) - Bigbofo (Warchanter) - Nukelear Blast (Sorc) - Jurugu Fleshbane (currently TRing) - Reviving IsCheaper (Radiant Blaster)

    Default Why Drow

I used drow for the Short Sword and Shuriken Racial Enhancements..
    +20 SR at level 20

Dark Skin and Body Structure goes well with the Ninja theme

I like it; the numbers may say handwraps are better (I don't really know, going from what's been said) but I personally like the look and feel of short swords. And you can find DR breakers and other effects (stat damagers, vorpals, etc) relatively cheap on the AH.

This is similar to the fighter ninja Im making.

You didnt use the planner so its hard to tell where stuff is added and if that all fits like you say.

I think you are making a toon with middling to low damage, very low base hit points and no utility.

I dont know why you are taking a level of rogue. It wont be enough to give you utility in that build from the looks of it.

You are counting 2 different stances to figure your stats.

You are depending on quite good end game gear to make your numbers just look fair.

I think you need to rework it to either be a decent ninja rogue or to have more hit points and base damage.
I understand the attraction of Shadow Fade with weapons and get that their will be limitations involved, but this combination appears sub-optimal even with in those limits.

    Cool It works

Sorry for not using planner... I was on the office at that time XD.

Anyway, I'm currently playing a lvl 19 version of this built but abit different in the gear department

the level 1 rogue, is for addition 2d6+3 backstab damage, faster sneaking, and additional starting skill points.
and for locks picks. So it works for me

You wont have enough lock pick skill to make it worth while at high levels and in the end game.

And if you are going to play in a style that intentionally makes use of sneak attacks then you ought to get enough levels of rogue to make it worth while. As is you get just a little damage so you would be better off taking another level of fighter and getting more base damage.
Sure its nice for everyone to have a little sneak attack if its a free bonus, but to make trade offs for it when its not youre focus is bad.

    So no it doesnt work.

Im really not sure why you dont take 13 levels of rogue and either 6 monk/fightr or 7/monk. You would still have a ninja oriented toon but would actually be good at the sneak attacks you seem to be building for.

    .
All ya need is 4 points into OL to hit 90% of locks in game.

I noticed IC at 6 ya prob won't have the BAB to take there switch IC with weaponfocus or take IC at 9 and wf at 6 and itwf at 10.

Most feats there require bab and at 6 with the rogue lvl won't have enough for itwf and ic won't open up until 8 if pure fighter or 9 with your split.

Others are right though dps will be subpar but decent enough with kensai and such.

I think you should consider something like this.(Some of the enhancements arent spent because the builder wont let you take acrobat 2 and ninja one both, which would be the goal.)

    Code:

Ya - the locks that dont matter in the end. And does it make sense to not be able to disable traps but to be able to pick locks?

Perfect sense when it can garner extra xp and loot in the future.

It is very helpful all my rogue splashes atleast use some OL.

Some splash a lil rogue just for UMD and evasion or SA damage so if have extra sp why not splash a lil OL.

Youre making a non-sense defense of him now.

His 1 level of rogue is not giving him evasion.

Its giving him a pitiful amount of UMD.

And with an eye towards the "future" its mostly just making him weaker.

Im curious just how many level 20 toon you have with ONE level of rogue.

I have 1 but is 11 ranger also so has evasion took for umd (self healing) lil bit of SA and OL was a bonus.

Not defending his build (which has evasion with monk lvls) just the nonsense of taking OL when if has spare SP why not.

May not be the greatest build but taking 1 rogue lets you put a full point into umd at all lvls which can easily with right gear get ya no fail heal scrolls. So the so called pitiful umd is more respectable than ya say.

So taking a lil OL hurts nothing and can get everything but epic locks.

If you are building a self suffecient toon and 1 rogue fits why not do it. It is one of 2 classes that ya can splash to max umd and when it garners lil bit of sa and ol why not.

I have 15+ capped toons and multiple with 2 rogue lvl splashes. Some have Full rogue skills some don't.

It is all about what ya want with the build 1 rogue is great if can work it in without gimping self.

The 2 rogue splash is obviously great for many toons(and I suppose there is cases in a well designed character where getting that one level of rogue might be the best use of a level - that is definetly the exception) .

This toon is between fair and bad at everything it should not be need diluted more just to use low level heal scrolls.

Default Wow! Thanks for the replies! Happy New Year!

First of all, I did not choose to get more rogue levels b'coz I'd be getting 2 evasions that don't stack... and if I'd be after for more sneak attacks(which I'm not) I'll get myself a pure rogue assasin ^^.

took 12 lvls of fighter for power surge and kensai damage boost for the short swords dps.
the 7 levels of monk.. for "wholeness of body" just for soloing survivability and the ninja spy pre.
the 1 level rogue was for additional sneak attack damage and alot of 1st level skill points.

Also I heard in a rumor that their thinking of adding a Racial Pre to Drow based on assasin pre which would be cool addition to the theme.

I wanted to play around with the ninja spy fade, and decent dps via short swords... I just leveled my toon to level 20.. so far I'm enjoying it. ^^

It's a theme and as long as your having fun.. no need to MIN/MAX it... XD
