    Wink

A TR 50 % off, would be cool.
But i guess they make most money off the F2P guys, who have to buy expansion packs.

I agree and have said so before.

Please make a list of VIP and non-VIP specials.

    Agreed.
It would be nice to have a week or at least a couple of days with useful store stuff on sale for VIPS.
SP pots are nice, but really, we had those like last week.

There's already a lengthy thread about this somewhere else.

To sum up my position, if every item in the DDO store goes on sale at some point this month, what does it matter if there are 20 days with sales intended for F2P and 10 with sales intended for VIP? This ratio is due simply to there being more items in the store meant for the free players.

    This is a non-issue.

For the short term player perhaps. If you think longer term, it's the VIP player that they're making the most money from. The monthly subscription rate adds up over time which I think exceeds what a F2P player will spend in the same time period.

The sales this month really made me wish I had just cancelled both my subs and not just one. Lots for Premium players out there, the $10 deal for new VIPS, pretty much nothing for long time VIP customers... I don't feel like Turbine thinks I'm a Very Important Person...

You can cancel your sub and take the new offer.

The on-sale VIP pricing can be applied to existing VIP customers.

Actually, this doesnt work. WHen you cancel, your account is still active until it expires. THats going to be after these sales are done for most folks.

Maybe you can call Turbine and have them do it manually.. Its not easy, if it is indeed possible.

Overall, there are dozens, if not hundreds of items in the DDO store that VIP's can take advantage of. I dont buy the "Ratio" argument at all. I spend $10 a monthand ihave invested significantly in Turbine points as well. getting shut out of most sales is frustrating.

Adventure Pack sales make f2p folks go premium and premium players buy something they otherwise would not.
SP/Hearts of Wood/exp pots/whatever sales allow VIPs to have more goodies for their monthly points.

Except the SP/Hearts of Wood/exp pots/whatever all cost more than the 500 points that we're getting each month so we either wait months for our points to accumulate before getting stuff or, like most VIPs do, we spend money to buy more TPs and get the item when we want it.

I would bet anyone that Turbine makes more money from VIPs than any other group that plays.

I just converted my subscription to the 10/month price. This is how I did it.

1: Click "My Account" on top of this page

    2: Log in

    3: Click "Change Billing Options'

4: Select "LIMITED TIME! 29.97 for 3 months" option

5: Agree to payment conditions and TOS

    6: Hit ok

It took 45 seconds. It is not difficult or elaborate.

I completely agree. I spend more on Turbine points than I ever will get from the monthly 500pts, thanks to TRs

Throw us a bone, at the very least extend the # of days of the sale.
Something goes on sale for 1 day, make it 1 week for VIPs.

VIP only specials would be nice also.

    You're trolling.
I think he was talking about dropping the subscription altogether so that he could buy adventure packs. That does take time unless you can get Turbine to do something about it.

Both of his posts are in direct response to posts about the 10/month VIP offer, which Impaqt claimed are only for new VIPs, which is wrong and misleading.

As to taking advantage of sales, if you wish to do this, you can call Turbine account support on the phone, and they have a demonstrated record of enabling people to make adventure pack purchases at sale prices, whether by deactivating your account for you for 15 minutes or by manually doing the transactions for you on the phone.

However, that's another matter entirely from what Impaqt addressed repeatedly and claimed falsely: The 10/month special offer is available to anyone right now, regardless of sub length or next billing date, and like the last time, will be maintained indefinitely if you do not allow your sub to expire.

If you are a 6 month subscriber, you can select this billing option for your next payment date and have it start then, even if you just paid at the end of november.

Also note that this is a direct upgrade for people with cashflow problems, since its a 10/month offer at 3 month intervals instead of 60 month intervals. As a college student, I would be upgrading from the old one to the new one if I had it.

You may not buy it... doesn't mean I'm wrong.

They did tomes the other day. Would it have made you feel better if they'd split that up over a whole week? Strength on Sunday, Dexterity on Monday... and so forth? Something like that is about the only way for them to realistically even out the ratio of days considering the ratio of items, unless they start doing repeats of the VIP-oriented sales.

The flat number of days means absolutely nothing. By the end of the month, we will have had a chance to buy whatever we want, on sale.

And for the record, yes, I'm a VIP subscriber.

Actually, this *does* work. You can cancel your current sub plan and the new one will begin at the $10/mon when your sub renews, whether that is in a month or six months.

    Subscription Plan
    US $77.70 Every 6 Months (13% Savings)
Next Billing Date: April 6, 2011
Next Billing Plan*: Limited Time! US $29.97 Every 3 Months (33% Savings)
    * Takes effect on your Next Billing Date

That is a c/p from my own account. The new pricing will kick in on renewal.

He was talking about canceling your VIP and dropping to Premium and then buying all the packs on sale.

That cannot be done. You continue as a VIP until you VIP runs out. In my case, as a 3 months at a time, my VIP doesn't run out until March. Long after the sales run out.

Now switching over to the 9.99 a month payment is easily done. But doing that isn't what you quoted and replied to.
