Why give Barbs, Fighters, and other melee characters a bonus, and punish the healers that keep them alive, the rogues that disarm the traps, the casters that provide crowd control, and the bards who inspire them. Won't somebody please think of the bards....

Not much in favor of this due to issues like competitive hostility in groups and greatly rewarding solo play over group play. I do find some humor at the thought of when misadventure is at the top of the list.![]()

I don't have a lack of faith regarding rogues. My main is a rogue assassin, and my kill counts vary. Sometimes I'll get lucky and get the killing blow. Other times, I'll go a whole quest with a half dozen kills. Not because I'm not trying, and not because my damage output is low. Its all about who gets lucky and hits the killing blow.
How about instead of kill counts, they list how much damage each character dealt.
Either way it doesn't matter, giving a bonus based on kill count is a terrible idea and this thread should be locked and forgotten.

Bad idea...very bad. In fact I can't think of anything redeeming about it.
Chaos would rule the land. Clerics would stop healing because that would lead to them being the last alive, and therefore, the leader in killcount. Casters would stop using crowd control and just use FoD and single target spells out of stinginess. Rogues would never disable traps because they could use evasion to get a head start while everyone else was picking through their way through. Barbs would die in the beginning and ragequit. Bards would only buff themselves and ignore everyone else. And then DDO will become WOW II. Is that what you want?

...we give a 20% XP bonus to the person with the least amount of kills. That will make our clerics happier to keep the killing machines going, get a boon from it..and would probably slow the game down quite a bit!
