    Default THF - 20 Fi/20Barb or multi-class

    Someone point me to an optimal pure THF build? Capped fighter or barb? Multi?

    Race?

    Thinking horc 20 Fi for the feats and str or dwarf 20 fi for the hp/feats

    Barb con enhancements/innate abilities make it that much better?

    Essentially looking for something that is pure THF dps and surviveability (HP). There has to be a bunch around, but most builds have some angle or another. Don't care if its cliche/over-used.

    Just a quick throw together. Skills are terrible, would need to modify that. Have 2 late class feats that are terrible, probably need to change around when take some of the damage feats to make those more useful and add more toughness or something else. Saves are pretty poor...recommendations?

    Edit 1: Reduced starting str to 18, buffed Int a bit for skills...may be a bit overkill, started at 13, may have been able to get away with 12 as I had an extra skill pt that I ended throwing into heal. Focused on Jump, Balance, UMD. Re-did the feats a bit as well, took an extra toughness and spread out my class feats a bit so my later ones weren't so useless. Missing possible feats - quick draw, iron will. could trade out a toughness. Could also not take weapon expertise or take it earlier as I took a lot of toughness earlier.

    Thoughts?

    That should work very well, although power critical is a junk feat. Its unlikely to be doing you any good at all on such a build.

    Basic THF combat is not complicated and Kensei of Frenzied Berzerker are both awesome at it. Paladin can also be extremely potent but is not as all purpose.

    Kensei is limited in that many bonuses are item specific, Barbarian is arguable a bit lower DPS at maximum, but they can use nearly any weapon with equal effect which means they may do better DPS against some enemies or can use a better overall weapon for a given foe. The barbarian also has somewhat better defenses than a dedicated Kensei fighter.

    Pure barbarian has some issues and depending on what you are doing a splash might be slightly better, but the difference is likely small and if the barbarian capstone improves you might regret the splash.

    From there it is mostly just maxing strength and making sure you take good feats. Builds get complicated when you are trying to do multiple things at the same time.

    It's not arguable, Barbs are lower, especially THF Barbs. Head down the page to the build I posted for an example.

    The 18/2 Barb/Fighter split is much better than pure.

    The difference is small enough that when the fighter isnt bursting haste, the barb wins, gear being the same.

    Do you want higher burst DPS, or longer sustainable DPS? less than 3 min of being "on top" -vs- greater than 30 min of good sustainable DPS, 27 of which you will be on top with an eSOS.

    Sustainable DPS IMO

    Reworked initial biuld of 20 Kensei hOrc. Seems really short on AP, would have liked to throw a few points into stunning blow. Could probably sacrifice a bit of hp enhancements to do so...but i really like the ~450 base HP.
