    Default Divine Sacrifice

    If you attack with a divine sacrifice and you roll a crit, does the damage get the multiplier effect? So with a khopesh it would be x4?

    Are you asking about the base damage of the weapon or the light damage that divine sacrifice gets? If former, yes, if latter, no.

    Edit: In fact, only if you get a crit does the extra damage multiplier from divine sacrifice go into effect. It also works on situations where you would crit even without rolling a number w/i your threat range, like against a held monster.

    from the compendium:
    (1st tier, available at level 5)
    Giving up some of your life force to win the battle, you empower your next blow against your foe. This attack deals an additional 5 to 30 Light damage and increases the critical multiplier of your weapon by 1, but costs you 5 hp and 1 sp, whether or not the attack is successful.\n\nD&D Dice: Deals 5d6 light damage.
    Cost: 1 action point
    Spent: 15 action points
    Requires All of: Paladin Extra Smite Evil II

    so in answer, yes & no higher tiers increase the amount of light damage added, but the light damage itself doesnt get multiplied. i THINK however, that with the multiplier increase any burst or maiming effects will be increased to the next tier too, not 100% certain tho as i hardly ever use my pally.
    I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

    Thanks for the reply. I am trying to figure out the damage per minute approximation of this ability. Are my numbers right?

    5d6 ..........................................7d6 ................................9d6
    (5-30) .........................................(7-42)................................(9-54)

    ave per hit................................ Ave per hit................................ave per hit
    17.5 (35/2)................................24.5 (49/2)................................31.5 (63/2)

    per minute theoretically you can get 20 perhaps but I doubt this.(havent played a paldin)
    [hits]
    20 = 350 (17.5 * 20)...............490.........................630
    19 = 332.5.............................465.5........... ...........598.5
    18 = 315................................441............ .............567

    Lets assume you have GTWF so 80% of the time you proc two of these (I assumes this is how it works) so 20 hit becomes 20 + 16 = 36

    36 = 630................................882............ ....................1134
    34 = 595................................833............ ....................1071
    32 = 560................................784............ ....................1008

    This does not include zeal because I am not sure how zeal interacts with GTWF and the 80%. would it be 10% of the total hits between the main and offhand or just the main?

    Numbers look roughly right, but i dont generally bother looking at them in detail, number-crunching bores me but cycling the strikes like that will certainly give a nice amount of dps boost - it'll drain your hp at a steady rate though... maybe get hold of a high crit range bodyfeeder weapon (i have a bodyfeeder falchion of PG on my own) as it'll provide lots of temporary hp to power the sacrifices with

    Thank you for your time Fuzzy. Can anyone else look at these numbers and tell me if I am correct on my calculations? I went back and fixed them because they all didnt show up. I did not realize you needed periods instaead of spaces. so it should make more sense.

    Your numbers look about right. I'm not a number cruncher either, but my experience seems to match up pretty close to your numbers.

    In theory you can cycle 1 hit every 3 seconds = 20 in a minute.

    However, in practice, especially in autoattack, it is slightly less, since the abilities don't always fire off right on cue and delays do occur. With practice I've come very close, perhaps every once in awhile hitting the 20 in a minute mark. Basically I'd say I average 18 during an autoattack the Boss battle, cycling between Smites and Divine Sacrifices in Shroud part 4 and 5.

    Since you're being overhealed in those battles the HP drain isn't much of a concern. However due to lag, as a rule I don't fire off Divine Sacrifices if I'm below 30% hp. That depends on lag of course. And is really just a precautionary habit that likely isn't necessary. If I was going to die in the next hit, I probably would have died regardless if I had 20 more HP or not (4 hits before "death" so to speak) or been overhealed back to full on that round.

    However, self-preservation instinct takes over and I usually hit a LOH at that point. If I'm with Clerics I absolutley trust, I don't generally "panic" and keep smacking away for max damage.

    Zeal is only for mainhand attacks. So 100% mainhand + 10% second mainhand + 80% offhand in a GTWF attack cycle. Unless I'm remembering it wrong.

    Thanks a bunch. can I get a confirmation on zeal?

    which of the following calulations is it? My numbes will be off if i get it wrong.

    1. total attacks = main hand * 10% zeal then * 80% GTWF

    sample calulation:

    102.1 att * .1 = 10.21+102.1 = 112.31 * .8 + 112.31 = 202.16 total attacks

    2. main hand * 80% *10% zeal

    102.1 * .8 = 81.68+102.1= 183.78 * .1 +183.78 = 202.16 total attacks

    Holy **** I am a fool. it matters not. I should have known this!!!!!
