Having A Serious Issue With Update 8!!!

I have been gone for the weekend and when I came back yesterday I tried to play some DDO. However Update 8 would not download, it would get stuck at different parts, the farthest i got was 10/958 and sometimes i got the error 4000, i looked that up. found a fix, tried all possibly fixes and nothing worked. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. and now it won't even connect to the update game data. This is seriously ****ing me off. I am VIP and I shouldn't be having this problem. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP! Note to turbine* If this is not fixed by the end of this week I will unsubscribing my VIP status and stop playing DDO altogether, this is just ridiculous.

As stated in the description of this forum, please only post here for player to player support. This forum is not regularly patrolled by our official technical support. (Though, they do show up when they can.)

Your frustration would be best aimed at your firewall Mr.Vicaire as that would be my first suspect from what you've posted.

The sticky also describe the information to provide - the launcher log file would be useful

It is not my firewall...the exception has been there for a long time, been playing since May, and I have gone into the actual router to port-forward and everything, but nothing!

i'm not sure what this will serve.

I also uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice and still nothing. this is getting annoying and is just plain'ol ridiculous

Launching the game and patching the game are different processes and you PC may aloow one and not the other. The exception will need to be removed and re-added as the file type;size version and signature will differ - firewalls can be quite rigid on this.

I understand your annoyance but the game patch process has worked for many; the servers are up and providing the files so it would be your local PC that is interrupting the update process and what I am trying to assist you with.

thanks a lot for you help smitey! i did fix it however, i just did a full uninstallation and full installation. and then it worked, yes i did notice that the date was incorrect, which is odd because my date is correct on my computer. But either way its fixed, i still think turbine should get there shat together tho. I hate having issues all the time, specially when I have a monthly subscription.
