    Talking vampiric stonedust wraps

    ....these ROCK!

am currently playing a halfling shintao monk & very tempted to roll a human or half elf "proper" healing amp build..or maybe just TR into one
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

Definitely enjoying the handwraps also in the level 12-15 range. Between the DC 27 Stone Prison, bonus to stunning, and Lesser Vampirism at unarmed attack speed I tend to find myself able to get through more quests without requiring any outside healing.

Too bad my unarmed pale master doesn't get healed by Lesser Vampirism in an undead form, otherwise I'd be after another set.

Luckily for you, Pale Masters get healed by awesome. Chuck Norris says so.

DC 27? I thought it was DC 17? (only got my pair today, so i could easily have misread it in the little time i had to play with them before i had to log for the evening.

If i'm wrong there i'm still a happy camper because it means my new monk will really be having a ball with these .

You read the description correctly, but the description wasn't adjusted when the effect was.

Most excellent, thanks for that . I vaguely remembered reading something to the affect but having it confirmed is appreciated.

Now my only problem is whether to go the vampiric path (my lvl 10 monk has 2 tiers of healing amp on him, which is as far as he'll go being a stun build halfling atm), or to go for maiming or some other option instead when i lay my hands on the appropriate sigil for upgrading. (and of course wondering if i'll be as lucky as some other guildies with the garments of equilibrium before i hit ransack on that one :P).

It really is too bad. =/ Ah well. I upgraded them anyway figuring I can use them for those situations in which, for whatever reason, I'm not in form.

Which of the new quests does the Staff of Shadow drop in. Got the wraps, need to farm for staff.

    Correct.

However if you merge one of the older sets with an item (i.e. a pre-patch pair of the SD handwraps made into the vampiric handwraps), they will then have the higher DC.

Does anyone know if the DC is 27 on the crafted pretified items too (it also says 17)? I made the petrfying shadow staff Monday, but didn't have time to play with it until yesterday. Granted I wasn't really playing in level appropriate content and wasn't expecting it to work very often, but I saw the proc work once (stoned a giant skele in the sub) after using the item for about 5 hours.

I certainly hope this is NOT the case and, like superior clickies, the text is still wrong but the effect was upgraded even for old sets.

It took way too long for me to get a set of SD wraps as it was, so if I have to farm for another set just because they were lazy and didn't feel like upgrading the DB to correct all the like items I might just have to begin looking for a random Tbine developer to put a shuriken through.

I'm basing it off of this post:

    http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p...03&postcount=9

"I'll look into it again today, it may be that there's something I overlooked. If the Stunning isn't applying even with the new handwraps, then yes, upgrading them will be the only way to get it to work. In that case if you already have a pair there's no point in farming them again. I'll post here again later today with news."

And then his followup post he confirms that you'll have to put them through the upgrade process to update the effect. It's possible he's ONLY referring to them not affecting the DC of stunning fist and not about any other updates to the handwraps, though.
