Don't forget that we used to also get negative xp when you died! It even stacked so it meant something if you died! (spits into conveniently placed bucket) Also didn't have the fancy high haggle skills they got now, going in ta the 80's! We had to farm the giant caves if we wanted money.

Dear Thread,
Why do people still care about plat?
With hugs and Kisses,
Velletri
No seriously searching is like, type a word + 2 mouse clicks. There is seriously no conceivable reason not to do it. It's a laziness enabler. you save like 4 seconds doing it your way, tops, which you lose by farming plat that you could have not spent in the first place. I do agree with you though, your not lazy, you do allot more work than I would.

Dear Perspicacity,
I enjoyed your letter immensely.

Eh, somewhat. At the beginning it was actually rather amusing how poor everyone was - I remember people walking around with curses for multiple days before people saved up enough money for a remove curse pot (or the poor suckers who got blinded, and couldn't even FIND the potion shop...). It took several levels before you'd pull anything Korthos-quality though, it was quite a long time before I found my first Holy weapon, and even elemental weapons were forum trade-bait. At the first level cap I remember trying to trade a +1 Cursespewing Longbow to Keensly and being a little hesitant to do so because it was such a good pull. I also decided to finish leveling up Henry because I had one of the 3-4 Paralyzers on the server at that point.
From what I recall, it took a year or so to save up as much as I can get in one average Shroud run now, so...yeah, I get pretty lazy when it comes to the AH too. Sure, I'll usually try to find the best bargain available at the time, but at the same time I can't really fault someone for not wasting a few seconds just to save 10k or whatever.
"When a mind does not know itself, it is flawed. When a mind is flawed, the man is flawed. When a man is flawed, that which he touches is flawed. It is said that what a flawed man sees, his hands make broken."
Dak'kon.
It's mostly about managing the time.
If I'm looking for a large scale and buyout first one I see, like you said I might save 4 seconds. When I'm looking for example of 10 things that saves me 40 seconds. It all keeps adding up. Now those 40 seconds I saved I could be doing something else more productive supporting my overpaying habit.
It's much like the lfm's you see for zerging raids so they can reach the next raid as fast as possible.
dear threadlings i will buy your 'icykits' for 10kpp 1 day before event ends when prices hopefully plumet mwahahaha
