Don't punish your paying player base. It's bad business.

It's not punishing you to make you first downgrade before you can buy the VIP perks like every other former VIP had to for the last year and change.

It would be punishing them by letting you get out of having to do the same though.

That is exactly what you are asking for. You do not want to wait for sales just like every other premium has had to do for the last year and change, whether they were former VIPs or not.
Are you stalking my posts or what?

No I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking to GIVE turbine more money. Your math is bad. I am talking about 9.99 + (price of HORC). Not the difference of. See, I had 900+ point in my bank for the last 6 months waiting for HORC to go on sale for more than 20%. You're also looking at it as my buying HORC at full price as a foregone conclusion which is bad logic. Just FTR, I am ready to NOT buy anything else after my VIP expires because of this ridiculousness. There is no good reason to prevent somebody from downgrading if they need or want to. It just pi$$e$ people off and it doesn't prevent people from downgrading because it happens all the time anyway. If you can't afford it, then you can't afford it.

No I have simply been replying to some of them. 3 out of my 5 replies were in response to posts you directed at me, including this one.

I have not once said you would buy half orcs at full price. You are the one with the bad logic here, you are making flawed assumptions.

As for your $9.99, that is what you voluntarily paid to "try out half orcs", or at least that is what you have been claiming. There is no reason to factor it in to the cost of purchasing half orcs. (which FTR you now seem to be claiming you will never do.) It is simply what you spent to rent them for a month. Enjoy the rest of it.

Of the posts I posted on this topic in three different threads, the two posts of your five of which that were not replies to replies directed at you because I was signing the thread and you followed me to all three threads on the same topic and replied to me directly when I didn't initiate it in either thread after the first one.. Say what you want.

You didn't state it, but you clearly implied it. Yes, I went VIP to try HORC. Had I not been VIP I would have likely jumped on the 50% off deal.

There most certainly is. You were comparing the 9.99 VIP deal I was on to the 50% off price for HORC that I wanted to buy and you horribly mangled the math. See, in this scenario, I paid VIP for 9.99 regardless of whether I want to buy HORC or not. If I am VIP which already gives me access to HORC on all servers and I want to blow 600+ T points on something I already have access to, that being points I bought before becoming VIP, then what does Turbine care whether I buy HORC or not? See, allowing me to buy HORC doesn't prevent Turbine from money. It actually prevents them from making more and keeping people from spending money is just about as stupid a move you can make as a business. So, if VIP is so great and I buy HORC and then decide to stay VIP, all the better. Each scenario is MORE money in Turbine's pocket, NOT less.

It's amazing to me how vested some people can be in the business of other people when it should really matter not to them at all. What do you get out of me not buying HORC at 50% off while I am VIP? Seriously?

I'm a Premium player who has bought all possible adventure content, all races/classes and most account upgrades (Champion, Shared Bank, one Shared Bank upgrade).

I'd go VIP a couple of times each year just to open all the quests on elite and run up the favor on my higher level characters, but I really don't want to miss out on the opportunity to buy the couple of remaining things that I don't have while I'm VIP.

I want to give Turbine more of my money. Please take away this barrier that's keeping me from doing so.

It doubt this will ever happen, and actually would rather it didn't.

Turbine does not want people to stop their VIP memberships. Yes, s#%t happens; I don't need to hear everyone's tales of woe. But the fact of the matter is that Turbine wants people to keep up their VIP memberships and one of the best ways to do that is to make sure that downgrading means VIPs lose a lot. The only reason a VIP would buy things that they already have access to is because they intend to not be VIP in the future. The reasons don't matter. Making it easier for people to stop subscribing is not in Turbine's best interests.

Obviously Turbine cares a lot, seeing as they have prevented VIPs from being able to do so with all sales like this for nearly a year and a half, and ignored all the threads like this one for just as long.

A better question is why do you care? You have already claimed you are canceling your VIP subscription and that you are not going to be buying halforcs or anything else because Turbine won't treat you special instead of like everyone else.

but I doubt Turbine will do this as people will store points until they have enough to buy what they need then go F2P.

They get the money either way. even if it's on sale and I'm VIP. Also do take into account that by doing things like this, THEY LOSE the players that have been loyal and giving money to them... the last thing they should want is to lose the only people that are giving them money.

saying to kiss it and go FTP and grind it is making your argument worse, they get no money that way. The ones they should treat well are the ones that give them money. simple as that.

To say that they are in it for the profit, sure that's fine but VIPS are their profit! If they wanted to they could remove being able to grind out favor and going FTP at all. Would you quit the game if they did that? probably, but you weren't giving them a dime in the first place.

While this may seem like a good idea, it would loose Turbine money.

If VIP's can buy all the content that Premium/Free players can, then eventually when they build up all that content (from buying it on all the sales, etc), they will stop being VIP and will no longer be paying $ to Turbine (both a monthly fee, or microtransaction purchases, as they have already purchased all content while being ViP).

Right now as it stands, people who are VIP either have to stay VIP (forever, essentially), or they go premium and buy all the backs, regaurdless of their price.

    /signed, but it wont happen.

If Turbine didn't like the P2P adventure pack business model, then they obviously wouldn't have introduced it in the first place.

I do know that they lose money from me since I would go VIP a couple of times each year just to open all quests on Elite and try out new content before deciding to buy it. Instead, I avoid going VIP because I don't want to miss out on sales.
