    Lightbulb tr my horc barb to horc fighter

    debating to do as topic says.

    im familiar with fighters as ive capped 3 of them, and tr'd them already. so ive been thinkg about my horc barb lv 20, most the gear i want i have on him now. madstone boots, bloodstone/shimmering arrowhead, and a nice lit2 greataxe, triple negative immunity goggles, minos helm, and all the essential greatswords/axes bursts/bane/dr breaking stuff....not entirely geared out item wise as my others ive TR'd but im dying to relive my nightmare on korthos and the harbor again

    so im thinking for ability points, should i go full leeroy, and put all points into str and con? and skip dex, and int?

    or save some and put into dex instead for balance skills and reflex saves, and ac. and some into int for skill points?

    im planning on THF, specialize in greatswords or greataxes so a low dex is reasonable, but i would like spring attack as well since i run around alot. so i know i need at least 13 i believe for the pre-req

    anybody wanna steer my drinking thoughts to clearer seas?

    ill revisit this in the morning, but im keen to tr him.

    You really won't need spring attack on a pure fighter TR.

    If you twitch like you should it will have an impact in epics. While you wont need it it can still be helpful. With the large amount of feats available for Fighters it's not a problem to fit it in.

    If your THF go Fighter and work towards and Epic SoS.

    Not enough to be worth 3 feats in my experience....especially when the first 2 give almost no benefit to most toons in most situations.

    Although fighters do get a lot of feats... wasting 3 is not a good idea

    seconded. on a non human pure fighter you have usually 2 feats to play with. all others are "set".

    which two to play with?

    im debating droppin the 3 feats for spring attack at times. i know my barb has no issues hitting while moving but i guess im still on the mindset of twf and having to land two weapons while moving mindset.

    so droppin those 3 feats whats worth picking up, extra toughness, stunning blow no doubt.

    the whirlwind feat looks fun, but having to put that much into INT to get the prereqs makes me lean away from it.

    as pure fighter you have 18 (19 as human) feats to play with. imo the following feats are must haves for a fighter:

    toughness (1x is must)
    weapon focus
    greater weapon focus
    superior weapon focus
    weapon specialization
    greater weapon specialization
    superior weapon specialization
    twf/thf
    imp twf/thf
    greater twf/thf
    improved crit
    quickdraw
    power attack
    stunning blow
    oversized twf (if you are twf)
    skillfocus umd (imo umd is a must even on a pure fighter)

    additionally if you wanna intimidate (you should be able to get the trash at least)
    bullheaded
    skillfocus intimidate

    if you wanna be stalwart defender
    combat expertise (13 int required)
    dodge
    shield masteries

    whirlwind attack is a weak feat choice because activating has a delay and offsets your attack chain. so basically you loose attacks when using it (= less dps). it would be even when it would not have 3 prerequisite feats.

    same goes for the cleaves.

    so featwise we have that covered.

    ability points, where to put there is debateable too.

    max str of course. up con, and some dex and int for skill points. may have to wait at lv7 when i pop a +2 int tome to get more skill points thereon

    should i sacrafice con down to 16 and put the extra points in dex to negate skill negative points, and some into int to give me more skill points per level?

    whats the consensus on that?

    generally i'd say you go starting 12 int for 3 skillpoints (4 as human). intimidate, balance, umd and jump (with the 4th point from lvl 8 on for the +2 supreme tome or as human). with a +charisma skill shroud item you can routinely blur/shield/stoneskin wand yourself when needed. also racial/alignment restrictions can be overcome quite easy. so true neutral alignment is possible without downside. depending on asf you can use fireshield scrolls with good % aswell.

    statpoint wise on a 34 point i'd go for a horc thf kensai

    with this setup you can easiely reach following umd numbers

    11 base for x-class
    3 skillfocus
    3 cha bonus (with +2 tome and +6 item)
    6 shroud +cha skill hp item maybe
    4 greater hero
    2 head of good fortune
    3 golden cartouche or shop helmet thingy
    =
    32 with standard gear (some swapping required)
    thats even a 60% healscroll for out of combat healing
