Default New Logo for Paladin please

Barbs have Axe, Fighters have sword, and Paladins have......Hand!! I would really like to see something better than the Grey Hand pointing towards the sky..a sign of giving up maybe???

Paladins are about Holy and Divine - so something shining would be real nice - and maybe force me to TR into a Paladin.

    thnx

I would rather see some bug fixing and more content (high level of course) then this.

Gauntlets have some noble traditions and fitting use for melee combatants. It may not be the first thing you associate with a paladin, but it is a worthy icon to use.

This, also I like the paladins icon over the fighters or Barb alot more flavor.

What a stupid ruling, we all know that D&D promotes satanism, not gangs.

    It's not a hand, it's a fist.
And it suits the Paladin perfectly

    The fist fits Paladins perfectly.

Well, I love paladins and would love to play, but all my favorite races (WF, HO, Dwarf) have a Charisma penalty!

The gauntleted fist gripping a lightning bolt is the emblem of the Lawful Good diety, Heironeous. I'm not sure where Heironeous fits in with the Eberron pantheon, but it would appear that the paladin icon was derived from this.

Heironeous is one of the few d&d gods that has presence in multiple worlds, along with Moradin, Tiamat, etc.
That is, they exist in both the original greyhound pantheon and the forgotten realms larger pantheon.
I don't have the Eberron books to check but would be no surprise if there's an equivalent for the Hand of Justice.

At least in 4th Edition, Tiamat is mentioned in the Eberron setting guide as a being trapped in Khyber who can corrupt the hearts of dragons. I believe it's the "Lords of Dust" section. I don't have the book with me at the moment to look exactly where it is.

    3.5 may be different.

Why not just have a shining shield with sparkles for the new symbol..
seriously I think the sparkles were over the top though.
Now that that made you chuckle why do we get the fist why not something different the monk already has a hand symbol why couldn't a paladin just get the symbol of a deity you could choose like a cleric then get a symbol of their holy symbol and favored weapon in the background. What else would be cool would be a blackguard class so we could have evildins to PvP.

    I respectfully disagree.

The Paladin's Iron Fist of Justice is supreme. Anyone who crosses justice is looking for a hard fisting, and Stormreach's Paladins are just the men and women for the job.

Actually I was only joking about the change to the symbol but it would be nice to be able to choose your deity just like in dnd and also I think a blackguard class would be neat as it is the evil version of the paladin but I don't think that ddo would ever have a blackguard class (I know it is a prestige class in dnd)... That being said I still like being a paladin and wish there was a little more variety to the basic classes they have why not make true prestige classes like a warpriest, eldritch knight, assassin, or a archmage etc. etc. and increase the level cap to 30 so you could really tap into the classes and improve characters to an almost godlike level and have very difficult quests in say Limbo or the nine hells or the abyssal plane. I think that while this game is very fun Turbine could make it into a truly awesome game. but then if they did do that this game would no longer be free

The clenched fist pointing to the infinite, the Paladin's divine thirst for justice is immeasurable!

    ditto,

& why does it matter? An Icon doesn't make a player...

I can tell you that my capped WF Paladin does not suffer very much from his Charisma Penalty. Actually the WF Immunities and the Paladin Immunities have a very good synergy.

I agree the bad guys are in need of a good fisting! it would be neat to see an evil campaign option to mix things up including a blackgaurd class choice as stated above x2.
