    Default blank character select screen

    Okay, so, it looked just like this in Cannith where I have a level 5 character that I haven't played in a few months (I'd also uninstalled DDO thinking I wouldn't play again but I reinstalled tonight and just loaded it up.) Although I think that there is supposed to be a background here even when you don't have a character on the server, not just black.

    Even after selecting that level 5 character (whose image didn't appear, everything was black just like in the image above) when I tried to play, I got an empty loading bar that didn't make any progress even after 20 minutes.

    Also, when I tried to go to character creation, the character avatar wouldn't show up, either, although things like race/class/path bars all showed up.

    Is there a way to get my avatar/background to load? And is the fact that I can't enter the game world based on the updates or does it have something to do with the fact that I can't get graphics to load?

    Thanks very much

    At the top of this page it mentions:

    Known Issue: Black Screen With Visible UI: Some Intel users may find that when DirectX 10 is enabled, only their UI is visible and the rest of their screen is black. If this occurs, we recommend you disable DX10, enable DX9, and restart the game client.

    Whilst the servers are down you can check it in your userprefernces.ini file

    It will contain a line similar to:

    GraphicsCore=D3D11

    When the servers are up in the options>graphics will be a tickbox for directx10 or 11 depending on your OS and hardware
