Can't buy tomes?

Alright, I had VIP and it ended yesterday (thank god, I will never get it back). Now I try to buy a tome for my character. It just says: "This item cannot be purchased". For example my lvl 5 Ranger doesnt have any tomes before. I even double checked that. Still, even +1 tomes (lvl req. 3) is not active for him. My account is currently Premium. Can someone please tell me what is going on?

Did you, at some point in the past, use that character to purchase tomes from the store; specifically a +2 supreme tome? For some reason the store thinks that if that character has been used to purchase a +2 supreme tome then there is no reason why that character would ever want to purchase another tome. I think it's supposed to be a safety mechanism to prevent someone from buying and eat... err reading two tomes of the same type and value. But, what ends up happening is it will lock you out of ever buying another tome. I encountered this on my main, used +2 tomes on all stats, +2 supremes were on sale, could not buy them from the store on my main. I had to log in with my mules to buy them and they could each only buy one.

This is the only thing I can think of that might be preventing you from buying tomes from the store.

Nope, never bought any tomes from a shop before. That character has been idle since european servers.

Make sure you're logged into the character and you are not on Korthos island.
