    Default A Gazillion crashes ?

Hello Turbine, i've been getting a lot of crashes in my game lately, game freezes or returns me to Windows.

I don't really think it's my rig either, considering everything always ran stable before update 6,7+ ...
A 3 Ghz Overclocked 4 Gb Rig, with a brand new EVGA GPU, I run Stalker and Project Reality for 10 Hours without one crash or hickup, full HD maxxed out. Windows is clean and no virusses. Reinstalled DDO already.

Is my pc too fast so the loading actually crashes cause of the OC ? Only real reason I can think of due it being due to my PC.

Game crashes about 20x a day, when loading or sometimes just when playing, I get booted back to Windows or there is a freeze and ctrl alt del , task I see DDO is still running with 1.7 GB memory on it, or so, however it has already crashed, freezed.

This problem never occured before update 5. Never.
This is something or seems like a memory leak problem within the software of the game, to my knowledge and it's freaking me out I need to relog 20 times a day when playing...

    Hope I get some feedback,

    Have a good one!

    Post your DXDIAG Report.

See the link in my sig.

If it was the games fault, dont you think there would be more complaints?

There are plenty people who complain...some here on this forum, more in game. Crashing is increasingly likely zoning into certain areas (GH/Necro/etc) and switching toons. And there is a mem leak in DDO.

Posting his dxdiag won't hurt, then a few of you arm chair tech support types can suggest he update his sound card drivers (). It might help. I bet it won't. I'd also bet his log reads something like:

    ----CRASH REPORT START----
    Program fault: {Not Enough Quota}

Not enough virtual memory or paging file quota is available to complete the specified operation.

To the OP, Turbine was of no help when I brought a similar issue directly to them (submit a report). Maybe you will have better luck. Good luck.

PS - Thanks for the neg rep, cupcake.

OP? Ever try running without overclocking to verify that it is a 'timing' problem? If it runs fine without OC'ing then there is a timing problem and you know the rest! lol

Delt? If your having that VM or paging error, then try: Control Panel: System: Advanced: Performance: Advanced: "Virtual Memory" 'change': Here it gets a bit tricky...
1.) You should set the paging file to a different drive than your boot/primary - since it will not slow up your system. Defrag that drive before you start this.
2.) Prior to Vista (IE: XP and lower) you should set it to 2.5 times how much ram you have - IE: 4GB = 9GB of paging space. You should have a paging file on your primary drive (C: ) which is "System Managed Size" initially set by windows. You'll have to remove it from the C: and then set it for your other drive (if you don't have one then you have no choice but to set it to C:, and this can cause some 'lag' since the system will be using C for the game and for the paging file/VM). This will require a reboot.

I appreciate your help, but given the language of the ddo.log, adjusting my page file was one of the first things I tried. As I have 3 drives, I *may* try changing it off C: (as I didn't do that), but I can't see that being a solution as: a) it's a problem-free drive, I did thorough deep scanning b) it's actually been a problem across two seperate rigs, with entirely different parts and OS's.

Still, longshot or not, I'll give it a go.

Turbine rarely comment - this seems to be a predominantely fellow player-assisted advice section.

I don't really think it's my rig either, considering everything always ran stable before update 6,7+ ...

I've highlighted the 2 things that stick out for me above. As per the sticky:
    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=199719
Please provide a dxdiag for the technically minded to analyze.

Is my pc too fast so the loading actually crashes cause of the OC ? Only real reason I can think of due it being due to my PC.
Nope, faster machines run DDO without crashing. crashing tells me your setup is unstable for whatever reason (cooling/clock speed/drivers/corrupt files etc)

Game crashes about 20x a day, when loading or sometimes just when playing, I get booted back to Windows or there is a freeze and ctrl alt del , task I see DDO is still running with 1.7 GB memory on it, or so, however it has already crashed, freezed.
20 crashes a day indicates a serious issue and your PC's system event logs (eventvwr) may point you at the root cause.

This problem never occured before update 5. Never.

It would not be memory leak otherwise many more would be affected. what is known is that switching characters serveral times does not unload the memory used by each alt, but the user experience is slowness, not crashing.

Don't forget - the DDO client may have updated but you have also upgraded your graphics card so I would suspect you need to uninstall your previous drivers and cleanly install the latest Nvidia driver:
    http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk
I would point you at the file but you haven't provided any model number nor even the operating system you run.

Ive tried everything myself man..I get constant dnd client errors they happen everywhere though abbot, rit sac, and stealer of souls are by far some of the worst. Also zoning in that porter thing in DQ1 where you fight the queen the 2nd time and d doors also seem to aggravate it. Funny thing is ...I never get client errors in the usual places most people get em like zoning into the sands GH and fens.

Perhaps if you post your dxdiag and ddoclient.txt file in a new thread we could see if there's any recommendations from the players for your system akiraproject?
