    Default New Bard Warchanter Song

    Well it's new to me, since I've just came back to the game.

    You also gain the ability to expend a use of Bardic Music to grant all nearby allies a 5% to perform a double strike, at the cost of 10% fortification
    My question is... does the reduced fortification only happen to the bard... or does everyone in the group have -10% fortification?

    Happens to everyone who gets the song buff. It can be cancelled by entering the freebie 'defensive fighting' stance that everyone gets.

    Do people ever complain about getting this song in groups/raids?

    The -10% fort kind of sucks. A big crit from a boss would hurt (WF are fine since they usually run around with 125% fort... right?)

    I guess the increase in double-strikes makes up for it.

    I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but its new to me.

    From experience, being at 90% Fort isn't all that bad, even in Epic raids.

    That was a LOT of squaking early on.... people saying they WERE NOT gonna play it... I get requests in Raids by the GOOD players to play it.

    My advice... if you're pugging and you want the song, play it. Just tell the party you're playing it so they can switch to Defensive Fighting and then out of it real quick.

    People did complain and the sky didn't fall. I recommend warning them tho.

    yea people made a big fuss about and and threatened to roll virtuoso and spellsinger but 99.99999% of them stayed warchanter because thats where all the goodies are for a raid enviroment.

    the -10% fort will only suck vs some epic bosses.. what comes in my mind are

    epic velah : seems to have a 9x crit range altho i never tried it myself just heared it from people,so 100% fort is needed there.

    Epic demon queen : oh my this woman can lay down some hurt.. crit prot 100% needed or prepare for a lot of hurt..

    For all the rest its not really a big deal tho.. altho you might not want to play it in the last part of tod also..

    Not beign offensive, but I actually can't see good benefits for WC's songs- DR 5 is 2 times less than stoneskin, and -10% fort is a little to much for little DPS increase. Did I missed anythying in WCs?

    Stoneskin doesn't last forever. And as they overlap (i.e. stoneskin will override it, but when it fades the ironskin chant will still be up), this allows for some measure of DR while you get stoneskin back up. It also allows for some measure of DR between the levels of 6 and 10 (at which point your UMD should be sufficient to use stoneskin wands reliably).

    -10% fort vs. +5 doublestrike is a fair tradeoff. Think of it as "berzerk" mode.
    And the -10% fort will be barely noticeable, if at all, for the majority of content.

    Neither buff is "zomgGODMODE", but they do have their usefulness.

    I was thinking the same thing. Spell-Slinger seems to be way more beneficial to raid groups now.

    You do have the added damage from the warchanter song... but I think spell-slinger mana regen, reduced spell point cost, and higher DCs, adds more to the party. And there is nothing negative added with the songs (like the -10% fort).

    with gear, even fleshy types can have 100% fortification. but you'd have to use random gear with the right guild augment crystal in it... think it has to be armor or shield, so you'd be giving up quite a bit, but it *is* possible.
