Default Dwarven Ranger - DAxe or Scimis for LitII?

So I'm about ready on my Dwarven Tempest Ranger to begin crafting a pair of Lit II DAxes. I have one DAxe blank already sitting in the bank and will have the ingredients for the second either tonight or tomorrow (just missing 2 pebbles), but now I'm second guessing my plans. I don't have all the required small-larges for the Tier I-3 upgrades yet, but I'm trying to plan ahead, so the question is:

Which would be better as a Lit II weapon for me, Scimitars or DAxes?

Would the 30% crit chance make up for the loss of 6.5 average damage per non-crit hit, and extra crit multiplier and +2 to hit (figuring in lvl 2 Dwarven axe enhancements)?

Opinions/discussions on the benefits of either would be appreciated.

(Note: I will be crafting a pair of Min II DAxes eventually to replace my M/PG set, but since I have those for boss beaters already I figured Lit II would be a better first set to craft. So the one blank I have already banked will not be wasted either way.)

If your going to do a lot of epics (ie lots of auto crit situations) DA will be miles ahead.
