Store Lag

Is there any way to reduce the lag preventing the Store from fully loading?

I begin with a black screen. I hit the Home button and wait forever until the store's background image loads up, but with no links or other information. I have tried relogging, and using other characters. After a long while, I can see some store links, but the farthest I can get is Checkout. There's no Place Order button loading up to complete the transaction.

You know, I decided to click around the blank areas and seemed to have found the final invisible button. I got the spinning turbine (processing) cursor, but then this little gem showed up:

"No additional transactions can be processed at this time, please try again in 24 hours. For your protection and the protection of the community as a whole, we limit transactions volumes per day for all players."

I just can't *wait* to find out how messed up my account must be at this point. Probably pointless, with 15 copies of STK. Heh.

I haven't received any email receipts, however.

(Isn't there a way to order over the phone?)

Same. The store is really flakey.

Whoever looks after this service is costing Turbine a lot of potential sales. I don't know how many times I've gone to the store on the spur of the moment to buy points for some random purchase, only to find a blank screen. It was probably loading, but you know what? In the 5 seconds I was waiting for the stupid thing to load, I decided I couldn't be bothered. This is 2010. My expectation for web storefronts is near-instant loads and no connectivity issues. The days when anything less was acceptable have passed.

I really hope the rationalisation is not "we already have their money from the points they've bought so we don't care if they can't spend them. And if its points they were gonna buy, they'll just buy them later."
