Default Would you buy a scroll/seal/shard from the Store?

As the title says and what do you think it would be worth?

I think selling rare and powerful loot for cash is the most sure way to make Korean MMORPG out of DDO.

No, it is the same thing as selling Raid/Named loot in the Store.

Some one had a really great idea. letting people use some number of Epic tokens as a wild card slot.

So if your missing 1 part of the 4 items to make an item epic you there is still away with out having to go to the store.

Yeah, that might make me stop playing. That's crossing a line I don't want to see crossed.

Just make the means of acquiring them in-game more fun/lucrative/whatever.

If it was there, sure, but I wouldn't want to see that happen. You'd immediately start to see uber decked out characters run by people that didn't yet even know how to utilize them.

I personally think the grind is too steep but at the same time part of the benefit of the grind is learning how to play your character to the most effect.

I'm torn on large shroud ingredients. Part of me wants to say yes I'd like them there but the same thing that prevents me from saying I'd like to see epic ingredients keeps me from saying yes.

I know I wouldn't abuse it and spend 40 bucks to build an entire greensteel from scratch, but I'd certainly take advantage of it if I was say 1 large scale short and just wanted to get my crafting done without a hassle.

Perhaps putting ingredients in the store with a cap on how many you could buy in a month would be a good solution. If you could only buy say 2 large ingredients in a month it would provide a nice boon without completely upsetting game balance.

At the end of the day I think it's best to earn your gear through gameplay.

I'm not going to deny it, I absolutely would buy a wayward shard/seal/scroll from the DDO store if it was available. I think anyone who says otherwise is either poor or lying

That said, no friggin way should this be allowed. Give us some in-game mechanism that will allow us to purchase this stuff with Epic/raid tokens. The most annoying part of epics is that when you finish a run and you don't get any loot, you are no closer to completing an item than you were before you started the run.

That would be like buying a job at the nearest Walmart o.O

Nononononono. Raid/Epic gear is meant to be sought after, not bought because it's "to hard"

Imo you pretty much nailed it.

However, instead of putting it in the store they should rethink of some "pieces" of those epic crafts that are just plainly ridiculous to get. Like Shards for Wilderness area Sand epic items.

What Turbine should do is adjust those drop rates.

Epic items are not the stuff you find on every person's hands. However, with the ridiculous drop rate some of the seals/shards have, it is more likely to find it in the hands of a random player (either old or new player) that was lucky enough to stumble upon the rare ingredient rather than the really old veteran playing this game for years and doesn't have such item yet due to luck.

I'm very much against that particular idea but I hate the current system too. I'd say you should get 10x the original drop chance for seals/shards that are related to an item you currently have in your inventory. Like if you have golden greaves in your inventory, it will first roll yes or no on seal/shard at all. Then if yes, roll to see what it is you're getting and if it isn't something you currently own, re-roll to determine the item 9 more times and as soon as one of those rolls results in an item you're carrying, switch out the shard/seal for that one. If it never matches, leave the original roll's resulting item in the chest. And really, they should only implement this in the sands because it would make the others way too easy.

P.S. Silkroad sucks! lol. I played, got ungodly rich, and during the huge database hack, my account was like #1 that was stolen and I lost it and the 270 mil on it. Btw I was the original author of the remote bank viewer app that they never banned me for lol.
