I'm sorry but generally when I see people telling others how uberly AWESOME they are......they're not. The really good players don't need to say anything, they just play the game and have fun. You should try that in the future. Or at least stay away from all those mean, unhelpful people by staying off the forums. I'm sure that they'd even appreciate it enough to actually try and help 1 person in gratitude. Or at least think about it.

So let's say you're in the ADQ preraid on epic. You open a chest for precisely the 7th time in your ransack countdown and TADA, you get a really awesome seal. Let's say you want to transfer it to someone or you even just simply click off the chest by accident, that's fine, right? NOPE. Click back on the chest and it gives you the ransack warning even though it's not loot #8 yet. Guess what happened to your seal? It's gone! GONE! Goodbye. I lost a VERY powerful and sought after (but luckily not useful to my class) seal that way just now and if it was the seal of ring of spell storing, I'd have smashed my entire computer already. So apparently on run #7 you'll get ransack and get your seals deleted from the chest if you click on a chest, close the window, then re-open it.
    Drama fail.

I had been told that many years ago by a guildie whose DDO knowledge was far greater than my own and I assumed it was common knowledge ever since (though it could, of course, be wrong). But again, I can't remember ever ransacking a chest, so apparently I was erring on the side of caution.

Apologies for disseminating erroneous information (thought it served me well, despite being wrong!) and I have ammended my post.

    EU chars lost in transfer.

Entire bank space unable to ever be opened again on a specific toon.

EU shared bank not transferring. (700 major pots, very filled ing bags for just two of my guildies)

    Abbot eating your items.

And many others, I'm sure, that I've forgotten... and he's mad about a single, albeit nice, piece of loot?

so the reason you're so upset is because you wanted to sell it for 250k plat? you are a greedy fool, and what's worse is that you think turbine should be held responsible for your stupidity

    Default not close to worst

    @OP

    agreed that is pretty horrid.
The worst ones off the top of my head:

    1) A while back hundreds of players lost all their larges when bags that were mailed between characters were emptied. I know at least 2 people who lost 80+ larges, one of em quit the game

    2) Random deletions in backpack. Know many people who lost their top possessions this way. Also long ago

    3) similar to 1 above - mailed items that didn't reach the recipient. IIRC this happened twice too. Personally lost a couple of top-shelf items this way

But I'll give you one thing. The one you mentioned is the worst I've heard of in quite a while

lol some day I'm going to do a scientific study that compares post count to the respectfulness and decency of a reply :P for example, look one reply above me. See, that's like a normal human right there. 1000 posts and you've clearly completely lost it lol. Must by the non-orien version of OR members where you run raids obsessively too many times, have everything, so you resort to hating on other people about how much better you are than them lol.

Btw we really don't know all that much about this glitch. Apparently I discovered it just now cuz nobody said "yeah, that happened to me" so for all we know, you could be in a party of 6 people and if you click off it and back on it, it clears the entire chest for everyone! Maybe it deletes seals that were already looted. Who knows how bad this is!

"But desolator, you're trying to make it sound worse to prove all the haters that are whining wrong"

Yes lol. Because it takes longer to get a specific shard and/or seal from the sands than anything that's been mentioned above except I guess entire accounts that already have seals and shards or epic items. And are you sure that the "glitch" with mailing stuff not getting there isn't that infamous "you spelled the username wrong" glitch :P or that horrid "you didn't check under unconfirmed and it timed out" glitch lol. JK, I'm sure Turbine screwed something up. But someone braver than I should go click on an epic chest 8 times and see if it gives a ransack warning because maybe just now they screwed that up and that's why it's happening.

Just make sure to look at other threads besides ones like this. Your data would be incomplete otherwise.

there's nothing "new" or "glichy" about this. everytime you open the window of a chest it counts toward your ransack. which is why i never used to go back to shroud chests when some moron asked me for a scroll or something i left in it. it doesnt have to be the 7th time.

Yeah, maybe its just me, but if someone puts spectral gloves up for roll, and I want them, I'm not going to assume they're lying and I'm just going to roll for them. If it turns out they're lying, oh well, they're a d-bag anyway. If you roll for it and win, they put in under your name, and it can sit there as long as it wants. Nobody else can take it.

Besides, if you would have won the gloves, you would have lost those to ransack anyway.

This is absolutely false! The ransack counter only counts the number of times the chest was opened originally. You can test this really easily. Go re-open a chest 20 times that you have not opened for a week, you will not get a ransack message.

Now start to ransack this chest, once you have 7 original openings the 8th open will be ransacked. But once you have opened the chest for the 7th time a flag is set for this chest saying it is ransacked, so the next time it is opened you will get the ransack message, regardless to whether the next time is an "original" or a "reopen".

So you have personally spent your time asking hundreds of people on Orien if they have an epic ring of spell storing?

I could probably get the same response if I spent all my time on Korthos, even then I have a good chance to run into a TR.

Why not post your characters names, so we can verify your claim that you are friendly and well respected on your server?

A bit of an unnecessary dig there. And for the record, I've run on OR raids several times and found them to be pretty nice guys. I was relatively new to the raid each time and running on my cleric with subpar gear, which makes me wonder what you were doing to get them to mad at you.

So you are going to compare factual information (post count) to opinion (respectfulness and decency of reply) and somehow come up with some make believe ratio that completely describes nothing other than confirms your own opinion of what is considered respectful, which I extrapolate from the posts here is defined as people agreeing with you.
