So let's say you're in the ADQ preraid on epic. You open a chest for precisely the 7th time in your ransack countdown and TADA, you get a really awesome seal. Let's say you want to transfer it to someone or you even just simply click off the chest by accident, that's fine, right? NOPE. Click back on the chest and it gives you the ransack warning even though it's not loot #8 yet. Guess what happened to your seal? It's gone! GONE! Goodbye. I lost a VERY powerful and sought after (but luckily not useful to my class) seal that way just now and if it was the seal of ring of spell storing, I'd have smashed my entire computer already. So apparently on run #7 you'll get ransack and get your seals deleted from the chest if you click on a chest, close the window, then re-open it.
This bug is worse than the Abbot raid eating people's greensteel?

Do you even have a lvl 20 character? Do you even do epics?
Seal of the spell storing ring is hardly worth that much, I've got quite a few of them. Its the shard thats incredibly rare for the spell storing.

If you honestly think that a single seal, is worth more than most people entire characters, then you'd probably think my account is worth more than every player thats joined since the DDO:EU launch.

Its a sucky bug, but hardly the worst bug ever.

And before you ask, yes I have multiple level 20s, and probably have run more epics than you've ever thought possible

anyways, whos to say it was even there? been playing for 3 years, and never seen that bug. ever.
if the OP needed it that bad, there is no way in hell im gonna close the chest without looting or hitting the loot all button. i could see accidentally closing it if you was trying to pass it or put it for roll, but if you needed it....it just dont make much sense to close the window without looting. and if it did, it would be the OP's fault, not turbines
if it was an accident, still your fault, not turbines

Yup. There is a recent thread that includes a SS of GM comments that make it pretty clear they know about a bug that can delete your main hand weapon in the Abbot, probably in conjunction with asteroids. It also makes it clear they can/will do nothing about the lost items. Nothing to indicate it is restricted to GS, although that was the weapon in this case. Could just have easily been an Epic SoS or other rare weapon.

You all don't seem to realize that this glitch can OBVIOUSLY delete shards also. I don't know what planet you play on but the scroll, seal, and shard for the ring of spell storing are worth 2-3 mil each on Orien for trades/transfers. Deleting a GS item? Okay, that's maybe a tie cuz they're around that cost to make if you buy everything. Oh wait, let's think about this logically.

You go do Offering of Blood and beat it, loot the epic chest, see a shard of the ring of spell storing, hear that there's a roll going on for spectral gloves!!!! in another chest so you assume they're lying but click off the chest to verify that it's in the regular chest and you come back and poof, it's gone because this is your 7th time beating the quest. And you had the seal and shard too. That's a shame. Have fun with those shard drop odds again. I'm sure it will only take about another year or two to see it. Everyone knows it takes way over a year to make a green steel item of course </massive sarcasm>

All you old time "I'm so great, I know everything, I've been playing forever" people don't even realize how annoying you are. I have a negative reputation because I don't put up your ****.

P.S. I would put money on the fact that someone will post "then loot it right away" so I'll post a pre-emtive "so stop using green steel against the abbot"

Do you people seriously just sit around on the forums, waiting to tell people they're wrong and you're so superior to them and know everything? Sad trolls.

lol if you actually got off the forums and played the game, you'd notice that everyone on the forum is an incredible unfriendly, unhepful person there to have an arguement with everyone around them to prove their right. On the other hand, in the game I'm well respected and helpeful and generally awesome. I don't respect you forum members one single tiny bit though and people I don't respect don't get any good will from me.

It's a terrible glitch and if you can't handle that, stop replying.

No one said it wasn't a problem. We just said you were over the top about it being the most serious problem ever. You are also the only one who had it happen, so unless its replicated/confirmed by someone else there is also the chance of user error or deception being involved.

And if you can't handle honest feedback, stop replying.

The abbot raid makes Green steel weapons vanish (or main hand weapon, not just greensteel when playing with asteroids.) months of work gone in a poof.... good enough?

Yeah... the Abbot ate my greensteel.

Also, every time you click on/open a chest (even in the same run) it counts toward your ransack. Now that you have been made aware of that (rather painfully, no doubt) and since you are counting anyway, it should be easy to avoid. EDIT: Apparently the above is incorrect, and I had been operating under false advisement for some time.

But what do I know? I hardly ever run epics (only when guildies twist my arm), and have zero epic gear. As far as I'm concerned a scroll, shard, or whatever has 0 value. And, I can't remember the last chest I ransacked. I get bored of repetition too easily.

you old guys should be nice. its obvious to everyone that getting baned for participating in a turbine event, having GS weapons dissapear, having ingredent bags dissapear, lag, or no new content for a year pale in comparison to missing a epic shard or scroll.

lucky for the EU players that lost toons in the transfer they can all be replaced simply by getting one epic seal/shard/scroll that

Kinda proves my point. You can make a green steel weapon in 1 day using the auction house and it'll cost maybe 3-4 million. Naturally/free, maybe 1 month or 2. Raise your hand if you own a seal or shard of the ring of spell storing or any other unbelievably popular epic item from the sands and it took less time to get it than the green steel? It's just not possible. It took me 10 months to even pull the ring of spell storing itself and that's a bit easier than doing an entire epic quest.

Btw if you or the server are lagging, you can open the chest and them zip out of range due to a movement discrepency between your client and the server and the window closes, especially while jumping, so especially in the ADQ scorpion room chest where I was and then bye bye seal. And server lag isn't a glitch, it's the limitations of their server/budget/bandwidth provider.

And who said I wanted that seal? I don't even remember what it was. I was trying to sell it lol. Basically any seal is worth a ton if someone needs it and has the other mats. I'm not 100% sure and neither was anyone I asked but if you see a binds to character item and then invite someone to your party and they enter the dungeon then go up to the chest, can you transfer it to them? If memory serves, you actually can do that but coincidentally, you have to close the chest window then re-open it to refresh it so the drop down menu with their name on it appears on all the loot. Glitch getting bad enough yet? You made someone run all the way out to the ADQ preraid and asked for like 250k plat up front for a golden greave seal or something, and then you got their money and open it and it's gone? That would go over real well.

And since this isn't supposed to happen, if you're in a party and you open the chest and your party-mate opens the chest, they see the seal. But you close the window for whatever reason then click on the chest and the seal attempts to remove itself from the chest WHILE your party-mate is still looking at it. Their client would likely crash cuz the game isn't meant to handle that kind of discrepency. Bad enough yet? Do you people even think about things before you post?

Oh why not, let's keep going with it! This is fun. Let's say it doesn't crash their client and in that case they see a seal in the chest and you don't. I'm a software programmer in real life and if I wrote DDO, I'd put in a trigger where if one person's client said a rare item like a seal was in a chest and another person's client said there wasn't, I'd flag their account to be reviewed because that may be an attempt at hacking to generate items. Good luck proving your client wasn't rigged to try and somehow do a trick to generate a seal inside a chest that's listed as empty. Yeah, Turbine would be so sure it was some rare glitch they never heard of before. Banned for life! But nooo, your precious green steel is more important than that!

P.S. yeah, if someone puts spectral gloves up for roll, you're gonna assume they're lying and immediately see if they even got them dropped or not.

P.P.S. according to hundreds of people, nobody on Orien has the epic ring of spell storing. Not one single person.

This is amusing to me now. The number of blatant assumptions you are making to even attempt to bolster the severity of this is astounding.
