Another guild thief

I see. So people asking to join guilds for the use of altars are either misinformed or have other machinations...

Maybe they just want to use the altars... and for some reason they are either incapable of running the Shroud or they can't wait for (less than) 3 days to do so...

edit: Oh, you said "to join"... Yeah, you don't need to join a guild to use their altars, you only need to be invited to their airship. But you need to join in order to access their chests.

I've seen a number of ppl in the marketplace begging to be let into a guild temporarily to use an airship's altar for crafting lately. Seems like a nice thing to do, but in light of these events...?

Can someone open the chest if they're a guest on the airship? Can they use the altars, as well?

They are asking for invitations to the ship not the guild. Anyone invited to the ship can use alters (I used one because a friend said don't worry about waiting to craft, I'll send you an invite to my guild's ship then you can use that shiny new weapon on the quest we are running now ) and can buff but CAN NOT get into the chest. If you invite someone to the guild to use the alters you may be asking for trouble, since an invite to guild is an invite to the chest as well.
