Another guild thief

Found another guild chest-looter. PM for names (if the rest of the toon names they gave me are real anyway...)

Edit: Looked up the other names, and they are all low level toons on Sarlona.

We just had this on our guild a few weeks ago, but the culprit deleted off toons.

Is the issue here that a guildy is taking things from the guild chest? (which is what it's for right? items put there by guild members that may be useful to other guild members)

Or is it that they are grabbing everything and selling it? (I'd imagine that guild recruitment policy might need shoring up here, only recruit people you already trust, that will have no problems satisfying their own plat requirements by questing/raiding).

I've seen a few of these threads and i'm just curious as to what the 'guild chest thief' thing is all about given the above.

They grabbed everything and sold it. Most of the stuff was too high of level for them to use, but they still emptied the chest (within minutes of joining)
Honestly their whole story seemed kinda fishy from the start. But I, in an odd moment of stupidity, fell for it.

Nah it's fine. We lost some decent stuff, but since I was the one who invited the person I went ahead and restocked the chest.

Lol I visit our guildchest about once a week. It amazes me that someone keeps thinking masterworks are much needed items in there, or even those +2 stat of +10 garbage min lvl 18 items.

WTS level 70 guild with tier 1-2-3 Shroud altars, all NPC buffs, bank, tavern, and cold/fire/electric resist shrines. PST, 100 billion plat OBO.

I've seen a number of ppl in the marketplace begging to be let into a guild temporarily to use an airship's altar for crafting lately. Seems like a nice thing to do, but in light of these events...?

Can someone open the chest if they're a guest on the airship? Can they use the altars, as well?

Yes, as well as every buff/shrine there. Afaik, only the chests are not accessible by guests.
