little help on FvS AA build

Hey all,

Can someone point me in the direction of FvS AA build. Been playing a while and figured this could add a different way of playing as I usually play monks, sorcs, or monster builds and be fun to solo with.

As a player who has 15 ranged specced toons cross classed with Bards / Fighters / Rogues / Barbarians / Pallys

I can 100% tell you there is no efficient way to make a FVS Arcane Archer work ...... tried it .. TWICE !!



I mean dont get me wrong ... it can be done BUT one class really hurts the other !

ALSO .. I am all about playing a toon however you wish. With that however DEX is really a useless feat for the FVS ........ BUT you could "waste" a feat and take Zen Archery and get the WIS bonus for your plus to hit with a bow.

My only concern with this is you are not going to be really good at either one of your classes. ( no offence ) I envision an OK arcane archer with OK healing abilities or ok casting abilities .. neither of which are going to help you or your party @ higher lvls.

My adivice .... If you have 2 character spots .... make a pure arcane archer and a pure FVS ... you will not be dissapointed !

PS: You could try a NON AA ranged specced 20th Favored Soul. Again the archer abilities wont be awesome BUT at least you wont be wasting all the needed action points on arcane archer feat lines.

tome and items will cower the wis.
Feats: All the pres for AA + imp.prec shot, toughness and empower healing.

After this post I created a 32 point build

2 FVS / 2 Ranger ( elf )

Ranger was specced to be JUST archer NOT AA

Sitting at lvl 7 it looks like there is potential for this toon. With saying that I did NOT have the benefit of the links provided above here. The end game on those toons seems to be WAY more legit than the image I have for my toon !

Well ... what to do now ..

I am gonna look and see if there is ANY tweaking ability cause man I dislike the half elves !

Not gonna ditch my current toon yet, BUT one of my mid lvl archers is gonna get the axe to try out.

Oh well ... back to the drawing board !! heheh

Its not just you! They are scary. :/ At least now they can be usefull with the new enchantments, of course with a helmet on them. heh

Hi Elm,

I fell over your post while making some enquiries for my own FS AA build. So I will share my operating experience I have gathered so far.

My FS is lvl 16 now and, for a fun player and permanently reroll-build tester like me, interesting to play.

I guess, as some statements allready said, you will never be, as a FS AA, the uber healer or damage dealer people like to have for the epic stuff or raids.

But if you want to have some fun in the Orchard or the Vale, it can be quite amusing running one. If thats enough for You.

Mine is an elf, I created her after the Zen Archery came out and way before the helfs did. (Maybe I'd decide to go helf with ranger dilettante, if I would ever reroll her again). Gave her the Zen Archery, (Child)Beloved of the Silver Flame, Spell Penetration and the ones You will need for the AA. The Wind Howler Bracers will give Bow Strength at lvl 13. Stats focused on Str and Wis. At lvl 16 she does 120+ damage on a crit, still you are very addicted to your equippment and the right type of bow/arrows on the right type of monster. Still you have lots of spells to buff and power up your damage output.

Well my guildmates know my obsession with silly builds and they do trust me as the group healer, in a well-rehearsed team she is great. But I don't know if you will get that broad-mindedness in the open pug world of Stormreach.

The FS AA has a few pros but more cons. Still my advice: play what you like to play.
