    3 golden cart from deleras

    2 luck
    4 greater herosism.

That gets you to 32 buffed. You can take skill focus for +3 to get to 35. At that point you can get the gloves from titan for another +2 (+5 but 3 dont stack with deleras necklace). Thats 37. You need 4 more cha points to get to 39. You can do 1 more exceptional, 2 more from a +4 tome, and 1 more from a +7 item. That will get you no fail heals self buffed and no ship buffs. BUT thats a LOT of grind.
Hmm.. I have 13 ranks into UMD with this current build...

Edit #2: It seems I have spoken in ignorance. My inability to raise UMD by more than one increment stems from my trying to take Rogue levels toward the beginning. Toward end-game however... I was able to boost it to at least 21.

Here is a slightly altered build (it's more a modification of the Blitz build, than a modification of the Doom Wolf build, but I digress). Also note, that at level twenty, I replaced Barbarian Power attack 2 with Rogue speed boost and sneak attack training. There is a catch though; by taking two levels of rogue to boost UMD (enough to use no-fail heal scrolls with enchantment bonuses, exceptional bonuses, and what not), I sacrifice 12 hit points (which isn't really that big a deal) and take a hit to my BAB (which may only be factoring my class levels rather than my strength bonus (unless 29/29 is the total with strength, but even then, this is not that big of a deal because the Rage, surge, and madstone boosts more than makes up for it. This is not even considering Greater Heroism, bless, prayer, recitation, and other attack bonus buffs).

Why did you put 6 pts into CHA rather than INT?

12 vs 6 CHA gets you +3 UMD and Intim - and it looks like you don't even care about Intim.

12 vs 6 INT gets you 69 extra skill pts by lvl 20. That's more than enough to have max ranks in UMD & Intim, plus 1 or 2 other skills. And you can either take rogue 2 a lot sooner to get Evasion or drop it for barb 7 or ftr 13 for...whatever that gives you.

Just trying to figure out which of us is missing the point of your build...

I boosted Charisma rather than INT because at the time, I was worried about suffering penalties to UMD, and Charisma 6 items would boost it to 18 Charisma. Should I dumpstat Charisma and take Intelligence instead, or boost the two equally?

Oh, and I looked into my character bank and found that I had +1 and +2 Int Tomes, and only a +1 Charisma tome. So maybe I could boost my Intelligence to twelve, and leave charisma as it is, and use Charisma items to remove the penalty. Will this work for maxing and getting a good use out of UMD?

One other thing, after having "Doom Wolf" being laughed at by half the Orien server (lol), I will be changing the name of my planned build into Dread Guard.

Alright, here is a slight modification; I've taken some points out of charisma to put into intelligence so that things balance out evenly at 10 (+2 tome makes INT twelve):

I sacrifice a third Toughness feat for Skill focus: UMD, and as a result, my UMD total (unbuffed) sits at 26. So... 29 UMD with a +6 Charisma item (not sure where the +6 shroud item thing is coming from, what enchantment gives +6, and stacks with a +6/+7 charisma item?). Exceptional Charisma +1 and +2 from ToD ring stack so that's another 3... leaving me with 33 UMD. +2 luck item takes it up to 35, and Greater Heroism takes me to 39. Now here is the issue that I see. How does the Shroud enchantment's exceptional Charisma Skills buffs stack with the Exceptional Charisma from the Band of Siberys, which gives a +1 Exceptional charisma (and the +2 from unlocking it), at most, wouldn't it only increase by 3?

But if it does stack totally with ToD rings, then Awesome, as that would mean I would not even need Greater Heroism to hit the golden zone. But I am in limbo as to whether it does stack completely with exceptional charisma tod rings.

You should take lvl 1 as rogue, so that UMD is treated as a class skill, thus allowing you to max it out by increasing it +1 during your fighter and barbarian levels (2 x 0.5 = 1).

DDO does not work like the single-player games and PnP; as soon as you switch away from Rogue/Bard into another class, UMD is no longer treated as a class skill (as indicated in my previous post, I tried this using a free character slot to see if it would work - unfortunately, it does not). By taking the Rogue levels first, I was able to get my UMD up to 26 without sacrificing a third toughness feat since I took Skill focus: UMD sooner... However, my HP is worse off despite this. :/

Here is the new build (hoping I didn't deviate from my original build too much as I re-created it from scratch). The only thing I appeared to have improved is my ability to utilize rogue back-stab and some rogue abilities sooner than end-game at the expense of HP.. unless I really messed something up at some point. >.>
