Default Super Speed Shroud - Work in Progress

    Wanderlust + 2.

This was a first attempt test run - we tried a different pattern on part 1 and maybe lost a minute.

    Nice time.

10 min was the record, but that was a monk-heavy group prior to the Touch of Death nerf. Before that the record was 13 minutes (one run claimed 12 minutes, but they cheated more than Ben Johnson in an Olympic sprint)

What is your epic chronoscope time? How about epic dragon or Dq2 or even Tower raid? Current raids mean more then old ones. I would be much more interested in taking on Wanderlust in an epic chonoscope contest then a shroud one. The shroud is dead and buried almost to the point it is not worth running.

    Why?

Sub-10min Shroud is possible - it's a worth while challenge.

Although a Orthon, Earth, Troll, Trog pull in part two is going to be faster than Devil, Fire, Gnoll, Orc. So a little bit of luck is involved.

DQ2 with the ball method is some what easy now. eVON6 - I think the fastest time we've done is at least 9m. These raids are somewhat monotone - really just about dps, not really an organisation and dps challenge.

Very nice run. And i agree an epic chrono speed challenge would be pretty cool. Anyway good luck getting sub 10 minutes.

Problem with epic Chrono speedruns is that in a speedrun you'll kill less and get less scrolls, and really who needs anything except scrolls from Chrono these days?

If you run a speed Shroud you get the same rewards as a non-speedrun Shroud, but Chrono is different.

Yeah, it was a totally awesome run, and I was very happy to be along for that! Loreseekers represent!

We had a rather poor pull, too, in Shroud 2 with (I believe) Fire, Kobold, Gnoll and something else (orthon?). For anyone else attempting this, make sure you don't forget to toss Mass Deathward at some point during part 1 to avoid heads rolling in part 2...

I'm excited for the next attempt!

And I agree on the challenge time on most other raids: the rest rely almost solely upon DPS and nothing else, whereas this relies on group make-up to a degree, coordination and planning in addition to DPS. Still, it's pretty sweet seeing Harry go down in part 5 in under a minute.

    1) I have no idea how you did Shroud in 13 minutes. Congrats; that's phenomenal.

    2) In non-speed shroud runs it would please me if no deathward or deathblock allowed duels against Kasquick became some form of tradition imposed on those who cast camouflage or unwanted barkskin.

    Small aside

the point of making a run very quickly ought to be to be able to repeat it again a few times, no? Aside from the coolness factor =)

In that light - was it possible to run again right away?

If you /death, probably. Ddoor or recalling would probably take 30+ sec and thus defeat the purpose.

Most toon that can contribute to a super speed shroud are likely going to want to complete anyway for the increased chance of larges.

Actually, I'd imagine that the point of the super-fast Shroud is so that people who have been running the thing for 2 years can just get the thing over and done with to move on to something more interesting.

Thats a nice time. I know that time was equaled before the cap was raised to 20 way back when, but I agree a sub 10 should be possible. Good luck in your pursuit. I'll look forward to seeing if you can break 10.

dont know how possible that is: part 1-dont think it could go any faster. seemed we were ahead of every portal, even had to wait for a few. part 2-easier pull maybe? part 3-possible. part 4/5 hmmm. kinda hard to see where much time could have been saved.... i was the 12th "pug", just saw speed run on the lfm (the only good shroud runs imo). look me up when you try to beat it, im game

We actually run pt1 faster (maybe 40-50sec) on our first run, but over committed in part 2 and the single healer couldn't keep up. One of the guildies had to leave and we decided that having a wailer in part 2 to clear the trash would make a difference to the speed.
