Default Are people losing their manners?

Hi all, just wanted to highlight something that seems to be occurring more and more (definitely around levels 1-10, after that I haven't really seen it).

So what kind of people are now playing this lovely, mature-minded community game, and forget any manors, or even to say hello when joining a pug?

The group had a good laugh about it after the fact, but it's been happening a lot recently. I mean seriously, is it that difficult to say hello?

What do you guys & gals think?

(edited to figure out how to put the image in the post)

As someone once told me, this is the internet. You can't expect to be treated decently or even politely by anyone. Then if it happens you get the joy of being pleasantly surprised!

Guess during the last year I've been spoilt by an amazing friendly community.

Things like this wont stop me from playing

lol - maybe we need a DDO:Big Brother program

They are addicted to being rude. I think they need an Interventionist.

I was hoping for good drama, that perhaps Cannith could become the new Khyber.

    I find myself disappointed.

    SHR PLZ!

Also, you waited like, 6 "Share"s too long to boot that dude. Your Boot-fu is weak.

    1. Why the screenshot? There is nothing wrong there at all. Looks like some light humour and one guy "demanding" a quest share for which you kicked him.

    2. As has been said, this is a F2P MMO so we have all the idiots that come over from WoW because their parents wont pay their subscription fees any more. This also explains why this sort of thing stops at around level 10, there is no more F2P content around there (at least none of any note) making it extremely difficult to level up above that mark without spending any money.

Yeah, need to work on that one :P

    & NinjaNeed:
    1. It was a pug for WW first part... you know, the first part in the chain where the quest giver is right next to the quest entrance? Boot Fu kicked in because the pugger did nothing else but demand a share of the quest (no hello, no i'm omw, not even a comment about my crack (:P))

    2. Umm, i'm f2p, & I've meet some really good people who are also f2p.
Maybe it is just the kids causing the trouble... not sure, but it would explain it.

Its a sad fact that some people are just lacking in manners.

Things get MUCH better at the higher levels and in the guild Im in I can honestly say the manners are impecable

Might have been worth explaining to them why they were being kicked, but then, it probably have done no good as people that lack even the basic of manners most likely will never change.

Is it an age thing or a F2P thing? Probably a bit of both with a large splash of rudeness thrown in.

Edit: Im also F2P by the way

Like others have said, its not so bad at higher levels. Its a F2P online game there will always be someone that wants to pee in your cheerios man, dont let a few bad seeds ruin your day, just remember who they are and dont group with them anymore.People like that dont generally last long.I started out as F2P about a year ago too,but now I have every pack in the game. Just remember squelch is your friend at times

Ya its really bad in the harbor, but honestly if my LFM says what quest (i put it in both writing and the quest selector) and someone joins and says "what quest, share" without even saying hello it makes a exelent "friend maker".

If you are such a lame you cant even read before you click and cant take the time to talk to the quest giver then god knows what kind of shanagins your capable of in a quest.

Though ive actually taken the tyime lately to write that (a little less blunt and rudely) into the chat box before i remove them. Maybe, just maybe i can save one -decent- person that didnt even realise they where doing it wrong because all the groups they have ran with do that garbage.

When did manner become a part of DDO?

I know that any group I'm in that isn't hound(my only exception), I'll share everything but the quest in question.

For me the best one's are the walk-ups in GH. Those are always auto-boot.

...People have manners? What are those?

Bear in mind that with the influx of new players, you could very well be seeing people who have -no experience- with walk up quests.

Even if I absent mindedly, over vc say "Hey, I forgot to grab it, can anyone share?" I say that all the time in there...and as much as I get laughed at...I always forget mwahaha.

For the most part, I have been astonished at how cool and polite people are on DDO. Especially given the terrible behavior elsewhere on the web. There are bad eggs everywhere, but for the most part my DDO experience has been great.

Some of you seem to have missed the point, I made the same mistake at first but was able to correct myself before hitting reply.

The person got kicked because they joined, didn't acknowledge the group and just asked for the quest share. Not a single Hi... Thanks... Heya... Whats up?... just Share, Share, Share, Share (I'm too lazy/impatient to get it myself). To me it was a simple party survival tactic. Its obvious the person wasn't going to communicate and could possibly cause the party more grief than value.

I've been assuming that "share" is ddo talk for "hi" now.

I have to admit that I expected some bigger drama. :P

If the worst we get on Cannith is that, I'm pretty satisfied. Overall, I have to say that I've been generally impressed with the community on Cannith.

I have to admit that sometimes the "share" business gets annoying. On the other hand, I don't know if I always remember to say "hi." I usually just say "omw" or "brt" and start getting my bootie to the quest.
