Default Guild Potions bound to character

    From the release notes

NEW: Guild Vendor potions are now bound to character instead of bound to account.

    Why make this change?

Probably only use it for remove curse pots for my baby Barb. All other potions will just be bought with my bard and farmed out to those who need.

    Seems a strange change

That's a pain. Means it may be cheaper to buy normal ones on a high Haggle character than to buy guild ones on a low haggle character. Currently, I buy stacks of guild Haste and CSW pots on my Bard and send them to whatever I'm leveling. This may mean the only reason I'd want to use the guild pot vendor would be to get the special remove curse pots.

The intent of guild pots seem to be to provide a cheaper option. The curse pots lacking a funnel seems like a bug, or a maybe side-benefit they added.

The guild spell components were like this originally, too, which makes this decision even more baffling. What possible justification could lead to making spell components BtC, then not BtC, then making potions BtC?

    Boo.

First of all, why waste the time recoding them when there's better things to recode?

Second, what warranted it? *oh no!* you mean I might use my highest haggle toon to buy something? Not that I do, anyway, because that takes too much time I could be using questing.

But its still silly that I won't have the option to transfer them to someone else, say if I use Haste pots on my Bard until I'm high enough a level to cast it myself.

Who is in charge of designating priorities for doing things? Really. My favorite response to half the things in the Suggestions forums are "This won't happen because the Devs have better things to do, like fix bugs", and instead we get useless changes like this.

Double boo, add a hiss on there.

Lets just hope they don't change wands now. Although i do wonder what will happen to them after it changes since i have some in my shared bank right now.

Assume the worst, as per your signature.

Your Shared Bank will bind to one Character, therefore making it unusable by all but one toon.

Or it binds to itself, therefore making it unusable period. It also bugs, and deletes your shared bank slots, and any gear inside of them.

The only way Turbine can fix this is to delete all your banks on all toons, and restart.

Sadly, this sounds like it could become true, doesn't it?

Nice to see Turbine limiting the use of the shared bank, if only slightly... :/

    Default Boo Hiss

I use my haggle toon to buy for all the other toons and it is mighty inconvenient to have the scrolls bound to character instead of account. Now one more reason not to visit the guild vendors, its supposed to be cheaper but with a high haggle toon it isn't.

Look on the bright side! Your shared bank just became 10 slots larger.

Unguilded characters access to guild rewards would be my guess.

Now you will not be able to use your guilded character to give guild pots to your unguilded character.

Wouldn't the better fix be to add a limitation to the guild items via minimum guild level?

If that's the case, they could have simply flagged guild vendor-obtained objects as only usable by characters in a guild, much like the random guild augment slot loot it seems to me. They're already different game object items than (and non-stackable with) non guild vendor obtained pots/etc anyway.

they already finished off guild and friend haggle bards, now they want to screw over account haggle bards.

screw it, my haggle bard gets non-guild pots cheaper than my other toons will..

bite me turbine, i'm sour.. you'll like it.

I think they're just trying to upset everyone into leaving so they can all go play lotro like good lemmings.

meh in the end of the day, what're ya going to do. right?

either enjoy the game or not, it's here.. I choose to enjoy it

    cheers,

Oh, looks like someone didn't like me making a joke. Whoever Ninja-negged me here, I hope you feel like a big man for hiding behind your veil of internet anonymity.

It was a joke, replying to a person whose signature has to do with Murphy's Law. Good sense of humor fail.

Like I said, I'm just guessing. And again when I say; this flag change (BtA->BtC) might have been a easier one to do vs any other options on the table at the time.

End of my arm-chair coding-fu for the day....
