Default Wow. There is NO way...

    A +1 dex tome.... 40KPP!

Watching the AH, the prices are just soaring way up! This is getting absolutely nuts...

The Dex tome was just the start....next thing I know, there is a +1Int Tome for 100kpp!!!

Luckily I got some good deals on some tomes from some Common sense people in Marketplace... but my constant searching in the AH for various items is slowly coming to a close as it is just getting too ridiculous. For you new players that don't have the money to spend...HAHA Good Luck! At this rate...your screwed. xD

There needs to be some kind of official pricing guide...that can help people regulate prices. Not really sure if it will help, but DANG! There is NO way I will EVER spend 100kpp for a +1int tome. ABSOLUTELY not. Some of these other tomes are higher than str tomes that are usually higher anyways...

Well... I guess I shouldn't complain too much. I can now throw a item on there for usual price and usually always get it sold... but when people don't know that 'usual' price and look to see them at 40kpp-100kpp, things are just going to get way out of control...(as if they aren't already)

    Anyways. /rant off

Good luck on your future AH buys.

The Auction House is not a fair indication of Market Value, and never will be.

Also take into consideration that newer players will look on the AH to see what amount to post something for and see all the very high plat-farmer/crackhead prices and use that number.

Back in my days, a good tome was 20k. Gold, that is.

Nowadays, you kids are paying 20 times that! MADNESS! GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!

That whole "Plat is the new gold!" thing turbine oh so long ago really F'd us up. 10x the price for the same items and no one noticed until their purses were empty.

Try Ghallanda where a single chipmunk funk is 110-200k depending on the day and large scales are 750+

This is a good idea, but just remember, something is only worth as much as someone else will pay for it!!!

There just needs to be some kind of regulation of AH prices. I kinda feel sorry for the new players wanting to get some decent items... at this rate, the AH will be way out of their league until they get to those quest in the higher levels that actually gives a decent amount of Plat from items....

    Just creating a giant gap.

Auction House prices are very easy to manage.

Never buy anything from the AH. In fact, don't even look in the AH.

    Problem solved.

Perhaps an AH deposit based upon opening minimum bid or buyout price instead of item base value? Sell the item, get the deposit back. Fail to sell that masterwork padded armor for 1,000 pp, The Coin Lords smirk on the way to the bank.

It's not a real price until it gets a buyer. And you never know if there is any.

If people put items at a price and someone buy them, well, what is wrong? Moneys in DDO are a no-value, the REAL trades are done with epic scrolls, large greensteel ingredients, red dragon scales, some very valuable named item and so on. In 2-3 months of raiding/questing at level 20, you'll have more than 2millions plats.

Most low level items can be acquired from quests. +3 stat items ML 5 from tangleroot. +4 STR gloves from Delera. Just to name 2 items. Chronoscope too has a good list of rewards for low level characters.

I think they do sell for 40kpp. I put a +1 dex tome on the ah as usual: starting price is the actual price of the item (2750pp iirc), no buyout, 3 day posting. Imagine my suprise when it actually sold for 25kpp (after the ah fee). People actually are willing to pay this much for it, I don't really know why, they usually sell for about 10kpp (after the ah fee).

Did they change the drop rates on them, or +6 items price went way up?

They can live with what they find. F2P new people have a gold cap limit so even with low prices on AH, they could not buy most of them because of the gold limit

The best regulation is already in place. If it sells, then the prices will stay the way they are. If they do not, they will go down. There does not need to be an in game mechanism to enforce prices.

Well...when people are desperate, I think they are willing to buy whatever they can get. As long as they can get their hands on the plat. Good way to make money I guess, but at the rate it is going, you will be spending that much more as well....

there is no way i personally buy +1 tome over 30k, in dire need i may buy it for 25-30k, but usually i find alternate offer at sub 20k or so, i cant see this as huge problem, i just wont buy those, only matters if you really want that specific tome right now and there are no alternatives.

Agreed, but some people don't play long. I had a friend of mine take about a month to get to 7. lol. That, and there have been some builds I've used personally that I've used a quick +1tome to fill the build out for a certain feat early on. It all really depends I guess.
