This isn't gaming under attack, this is addiction under attack. There's a difference. And that thing about it being normal to be in school until midnight is troubling, everyone I know over here is perfectly able to fit gaming, studying, and even long sports like football into a single day and still be functional the next day. What do they do in school over there, copy the alphabet 500 times a day?

I agree with the point of Government stepping in where a parent should be, I do believe this is a good move as there reason for doing it is not for the reasons we all fear which is "to much violence" in video games and censorship but for reasons to combat addiction.

As for the schooling thing I see it as normal as Japan and china take there education seriously same for Germany. Most counties are ALOT more focused on the education of our youth sad that the U.S isn't the same.

What a stupid ruling, we all know that D&D promotes satanism, not gangs.

Yeah, echoing the parent thing: who's letting their kids stay up all night? If they aren't following the rules, threaten to pull their internet access entirely. Or something. Yeah, it's not going to be pretty, but yer not sposed to be the pal.

School is ridiculously easy, I don't understand how they can state that people spend till midnight "studying"

perhaps my perspective is warped. I just don't see it, however.

You should reword this to "school CAN be easy" it all depends on the level of education you are aiming for. I spent many a night studying until midnight (and way beyond!) while doing my Bachelors and Masters degrees.

In some cases school is certainly not easy.

I have a friend that received his highschool diploma, and his MBA in the same year. He
also played basketball, baseball, and track. I know for a fact that if you ask him about his accomplishments, EASY, will not be in his answer.

If you find school too easy you are either

    1. Not fully applying yourself

    2. Not being being recognized for your talents.

    3. Not being realistic.

If number one is true you should try to be the best in your class and then come tell us
    how easy it is.

If number two is true then maybe you should take on more than what your school offers. There are always options. Online classes, night classes, etc.

If number three is true. Well I think you can figure that one out for yourself, after all
    school is too easy.

Well, I am talking about High School level education, with some honors courses.

I am also the at the top of my class in History marks and English marks.
    4

Also there is also a fourth option (since what you stated was limited to only three options I must point out that this is a logical fallacy).

    This magical fourth option?

School is easy, from my perspective.

Now, educating yourself is not necessarily easy. Right now, I am studying for my CCNA and it is far more difficult than anything I learn through public education.

I must admit, I apologize for coming off pretentious.

College may be more challenging than high school is/was for me. I cannot comment on the possibility, however, because I have never been in a college class, other than AP High school classes such as Chemistry 2 AP, Computer Science AP, English 11 Ap, and AP Euro History.

Something tells me these aren't what true college classes are, even if they are worth the same credit.
