Will Saves For Fighters: Worth Attention?

How bad is a level 20 fighter failing typical Will saves?

Are they pretty much auto-fail?

Are the DCs at end game so high that they would still be auto-fail if you buffed the Will saves?

I was thinking about trying to shore up the Will save weakness with a green steel necklace:

+6 Wisdom (+10 diplomacy and haggle)
blindness ward and disease immunity
+1 Will save (exceptional)

That would give me +4 to my Will save. Eventually, when I'm swimming in scales and upgrade to tier 3 I would add +2 Will save (exceptional) for a total of +6.

I think this could be worthwhile if the +4 bonus is regularly going to come into play. But if I'm still auto-failing Will saves with the +4 then I'd be wasting an item slot.

I've leveled quite a few very VERY low will save (as in a 6 wisdom end game) the very few times I get commanded, it lasts for seconds b/c of the nerf a while back.
don't bother with it. If you can't hit mid 30's end game, ain't gonna matter.

if something has a dc of say a 42 and you have a 6, a 16, or a 21 will save, you're gonna fail you're save except on a 20.

now say you have a 32, you still need to roll an 11 to save. see the problem?

don't bother with it, make sure your dps is strong, your hp count is high, your skill level surpasses the content, and you'll be a fine addition to your party.
