An individual on Khyber is putting up auctions where you have to send in plat in order to bid. Avoid at all costs as the same rare item has been up for auction 2 days in a row. Proof? no, Suspicious?

Just want to make sure nobody falls victim.

He's been trying to sell that Pale Lavender Ioun Stone for more than 2 days, and is apparently not violating the CoC.. and thus Turbine has decided to allow a con artist to take advantage of hapless new players further diminishing the amount of people willing to pay for a subscription.

They stated that a GM asked them to stop. Wasn't in marketplace or harbor since, so don't know if they actually have or not.

After some persistent reporting, and maybe a bit of illegitimate mailbox spamming of copper a senior gm contacted and asked him too politely stop.

Thus far he has agreed and stopped with the silent auction.

I believe I posted up the thread in question (whose whereabouts i cannot determine, probably in most cases eaten up by the cube no doubt)

Apparently this kind of whistle blowing is against the forum rules and i got sent a PM by a certain Moderator. I have since then replied back to seek further clarification.

So has there been closure about this in any case as regards to the authenticity of the report given about by Vizzini.

It was the fact that the last thread had BOS targeted but was stated that the character was 'close too' but the link was for Band of Skull's MyDDO page. Which had me concerned.

Not a member of our guild and had received a couple PMs regarding the made-up guild name in question.

It is easy to track the codes. Every item in DDO has a unique code that identifies it as 'unique'.

One just have to acquire said code and copy down the binary, and can easily narrow down whether if its the same seller/scammer
