Lightbulb Some much-needed & long-overdue UI improvements, please!

It'd be great if Turbine were to forgo one content update (if they have to) just to bring DDO's user interface functionality up to modern standards.
    In order of preference/priority:

    • Viewing each party member's location, and Classes/Level simply by hovering the mouse over their HP/SP bar in the party list. (instead of having to use the Who panel if they aren't visible on-screen.)

    • Right-click Context Menus for all item icons (whether they're in the inventory, bank, vendor Sell view, or on hotbars) to let you:
      • Examine
      • Lock/Unlock or Mark/Unmark as Junk
      • Mark with a flag from a choice of colors (for personal organization, as per Alabore suggestion's below. for example Green for me would mean I have to pass those items to an alt later)
      • Equip to Left/Right Hand (as two different choices on the menu)
      • Unequip (not currently possible through hotbars other than selecting some other item or a blank Weapon Set.)
      • Send to first emply slot on Hotbar #N
      • Discard

    • A private user-editable journal so we don't have to put self-reminders in a publicly-viewable bio

    • Window and Hotbar snapping to let us neat-freaks easily align them up with each other.

    • Increase the minimum pixel distance needed to move the mouse before you can drag an icon off a hotbar.

    • A separate Buffs page on the Character Sheet that shows a vertically-scrollable list of all your active [de]buffs, with detailed info for each in mouse-over tooltips.

    • Increase the length of the buff bar for the good number of gamers who use monitors bigger than 17".

    • The option to display a smaller party bar, with tiny fonts for the player names and no Class icons or SP bars unless you hover on a name (can take up too much space as it is on small laptop screens especially when you have a lot of hotbars.)

    • A special, scrollable hotbar that automatically lists all the potions that're in your inventory, maybe locked to one of the screen edges as chosen by the user.

    • Automatically highlight players that're in your Friends list by using a different color for their chat messages, and an icon above their heads or some other marker around them in the main view.

I'll edit this post to include more suggestions/requests from other posters. Thanks!

    Exclamation P.s.

    Oh and a server-wide friends list (or even cross-game a la Battle.net)

    Rep cookie for you.
Extra suggestion: expand on the junk gear concept - add more colours to locks, so we can use colour codes to recognise gear more readily.

    Default Why not...

Can't we just get the ability to resize ALL the UI windows? I can live with a tiny map and health bar.

I wish we could also edit the size of shortcut bars (to get even more screen room), snip bars off (to fit the little spaces after moving everything around), and add more bars (More clicky room!!!).

One thing to add to that, is Equip to Left/Right Ring Slot. Or if that was your original intention, Equip to main/secondary hand.

I agree with everything but that. the problem is that for new players ( like me) we always loot all potions from chests, and take them from the grounds, so that bar would be too clutered. im glad i dont have any rep for people to remove for my writing this post, and not hinking exclusivly about the experieced players.

    But for the rest /signed.

Maybe a double bar or something or decrease the size of the buff icons so they all fit something like a size to fit option.

All, or at least most, of those suggestions would be convenient and much appreciated by the DDO community. Also (because it does matter to some) the OP was well-thought-out and well-worded. So a secondary thank you for that.

However, some of those if implemented should be done with a toggleable option. I'm thinking specificly the highlighting of friends' messages, because when I'm roleplaying or just sitting around chatting with friends in-between quests or whatever I'd really rather not have that many messages be highlighted. It'd just give me a headache.

I would like to see this done for guild members - nothing fancy, I don't need to know their guild status, just where they are on the map
