hmm have a look at neelloc of thelanus flame boy(op).....my cleric out performs every fvs in epic content because of the servant PRE
and as for healing a fvs even totally heal speced can never seem to be on par with a good cleric...sorry to burst your bubble

Favored have better enhancements, like improved empower healing

Favored soul has improved empower not improved empower healing. Clerics are more efficient at healing and have bigger heal spells with radiant servant.
