Heighten working on AM SLAs?

I was in a hard VoD run yesterday and I was using both Mass Hold and trying to use the AM Hypno SLA. I have a 42DC for enchantment spells. The bearded devil mobs appeared to be failing their saves to mass hold almost universally, yet when I cast Hypnotism, they almost universally saved.
I checked to make sure that heighten was activated and it was, so I'm wondering if it's not working properly on SLAs. Sadly, since it's an enhancement not a spell, I couldn't mouse-over for the DC.
Has anyone else noticed this?

I noticed something similar, also in VoD, but using a supposedly heightened chain missile/magic missile vs. suulo, but getting no effect (also no "immune") so either he has spell resistance (does SR even work on MM? dont usually play arcanes so not sure) or his innate spell immunity is knocking it out (iirc in P&P heighten should make a spell count as higher level for the purposes of bypassing stuff like that too).. when i get off timer i'll have to try it again with a normal version from the spellbook to compare.

Nope, getting a mass of Save messages and diamond icons

I just tested it in PvP vs my wife's human cleric with +25 for will save. They were using DC42, so maybe there is something strange with those devils.

the devils may have the ability that makes them immune to charm effects... mandate of shavarath i think it's called. possibly that ability also protects them from hypnotism?

Yeah my wiz was using SLA hypno on spiders in Dust with no problems and few saves.

I suppose that's possible, but wouldn't they give me an "immune" message instead of a "save" message?

Unless it just gives them a big bonus to their save against it.

Hypno works fantabulously for me in Epics. I believe Heighten is working as intended.

i don't know. i've never tried to cast charm spells on a mob that i specifically knew to be under the mandate of shavarath effect :P (for that matter, i'm not sure at the time i actually had any charm spells that i might have tried on them)

that said, if your mass holds are landing all the time, your hypnotism should be landing *occasionally*. even without heighten, that should be DC 34 and that's high enough that they should fail occasionally, i would think.

Have you tried loading up the 1st level spell Hypnotism, and alternating between that and the archmage ability?
