If you cant tolerate what goes on in the PVP pit, dont go into the PVP pit.

PVP is never about skill in the first place, its about circumstance. Sure the tactic they use to kill you completely lacks skill, but when you kill them it was done with complete skill and finesse, right? NOT.

Imbalances in PvP will never trigger an dev action. They don't care, they know that PvP was non-existent in PnP and they're not going to ruin the overwhelmingly larger PvE aspect just because people don't like something that's happening in an area of the game used only when waiting for a group to fill.

Many things are broken in PvP. Otto's, Slayer Arrows, Touch of Death, most caster spells (if you don't have evasion), Bard's Caper/Fascinate/Enthrall. Live with it, there will be no change to the spells because they're overpowered in PvP.

Few general responses regarding a few points as there's been a lot more posts than I expected:

    - I'm not suggesting do what some MMORPGs do and allow people to be player-killed (PKed) while in dungeons and such. PVP should remain to be optional but there should be tournaments, class balance, etc.
    - I agree with a poster regarding a lot of balance and bug fixes are needed to be done in PVE. This should take priority over fixing/expanding/tweaking PVP.
    - Spells can work differently in PVP than do against mobs. Ottos Irresistible dance could simply be made a 5 second dance with a 30 second recharge. This is a very simple change and multiple spells/skills/feats/enchantments need similar tweaking.
    - There's a capture the flag and deathmatch in the Marketplace arena but the game doesn't promote it and it's fairly hidden so it's rarely used. Also, half the matches I've done of those bug out and random people get booted at the beginning.
    - Turbine is charging a subscription fee on the high end compared to most MMORPGs to experience most high level content. On top of that they also have a store they profit from. Not saying there is anything wrong with doing either of these things but their quality control, support, and commitment to resolving issues should be a lot better than it is. Personally, like most players I've been adversely affected by bugs on multiple occasions (I have VIP membership/spent money in the store) and then dismissed by a GM when requesting some kind of compensation. There is no benefit of the doubt offered to veteran players and doesn't seem like they are really listened to. Regarding development/quality control, most MMORPG vendors if they had a widespread bug such as most parties not being able to enter epic difficulty level without someone having to relog in, it would be resolved within days and weeks have went by and still no fix for it.

Actually, immobilizing a person for extended periods of time without the intention of killing them is greifing.

Please go whine about URPWNG in PVP forum.
There it may be ignored as it deserves.
Affect on game of PVP = None.
Those that actually play the game don't care about it as it is of no relevance.
Thus this does not belong in any forum with gameplay in the name.
    Thanks,

Nothing to see here, move along.

If they "fix" something for PvP, other requested "fixes" will be hounded for and, they may break something when the "fix" the so called problem for PvP. They have a track record of breaking things when they fix something else.

Everything works as it should in PvP.

Otto's IRRESISTIBLE Dance....IRRESISTIBLE being in the title is working fine. It should not be changed for PvP.

Slayer Arrows are working fine. They should not be changed for PvP. <<<We all know who this comment is directed at.

Everything is working fine in PvP and there is nothing that needs changing for PvP.

PvP in DDO is an after thought and it should stay that way. The game is about PvE. The devs should stay focused on PvE and any time spent on PvP is wasted time.
Disappointed and without trust in the powers that be.

Hey mods, may you please move this thread to the PvP forum, where I can happily ignore it? It is polluting my "new posts" screen
