DirectInput error 103

I've been playing the game for at least two months, and it's been working perfectly fine. Today, I try to login and I get an error message that makes no sense, to me. I can open the launcher, login to the account, and select the server, but after it's selected, I get this error message:

Could not initialize DirectInput. Please ensure that DirectX 9.0c [Dec 2005] or higher is installed. [103]

How could it not be installed? I've been playing it for two months, and it worked perfectly before I went to bed last night.

I even tried going to the microsoft website and downloading runtime components and directx 9.0c and higher, and it tells me that a higher version is already installed and no installation was necessary. I'm at a loss of what to do, now.

Any suggestions?

I had this same issue and restarting my computer seemed to fix it no problem, sorry for the late response.
