    Default Proposal: Isolate the Variable(36)

This will be, as of update 9, the highest healing amplification attainable in the game.

Originally posted here as the first major healing amplification character, Im looking to improve the build in several ways and thought Id post my initial layout here.

First and formost this is a 36 point build and is not meant for new players. Ive spent several months aquiring tomes and gear for this characters final reincarnation, so it is a little intensive in that department, but Id like to think the benefits are worth it. This specific build also requires three paladin past lives and one monk past life.

This build has everything a melee could want, from great agro management via intimidate to armor class and dps. Its intended to take advantage of several different classes to maximize their strengths; passive immunities and damage reductions, healing amplification, saves, spells and spell-like abilities, improved evasion, and prestige enhancements.

    The split I chose for the final version of this build is;

    12 Shintao Monk/ 6 Hunter of the Dead/ 2 Fighter

    Stats

    10Base +3Tome +7Item +2Ship = 22 Strength
    16Base +5Level +4Tome +6Item +1Exceptional +1Human +3Stance +2Ship +2Yugoloth = 40 Dexterity
    15Base +3Tome +6Item +3Exceptional +1Human +2Ship +2Yugoloth -2Stance = 30 Constitution
    10Base +3Tome = 13 Intelligence
    15Base +4Tome +7Item +1Monk +1Exceptional +2Ship +2Yugoloth = 32 Wisdom
    14Base +3Tome +6Item +1Exceptional +2Paladin +2Ship +2Yugoloth = 30 Charisma

    Healing Amplification

    (1.95Base* 1.1Finger Necklace* 1.1Greensteel* 1.2Greensteel* 1.3Greensteel* 1.25Insight* 1.1Ship = 506%)

*The finger neckalce, if equiped before other healing items, adds 10% to your base healing amplification then adds an additional 10% healing amplification which stacks multiplicatively like your other sources.

I was mucking around with numbers and decided that a pure monk can be quite viable as an intimitank, especially with your tome roll out.

A pure light side monk will only be missing on 10% of the healing amp afaik from the HotD but makes up for it with 10/epic or 8/- damage reduction and all the other awesomeness of being a pure monk.

Possibly the main place it falls short is on the hate tanking front lacking divine righteousness though will be ahead on defense/DPS and have other pure monk goodies.

As far as intimidate goes, it's quite possible to get to 80 with ideal buffs and I have a personal suspicion that it would be viable to proc moment of clarity often enough to give you an extra 5 though this would only be possible on a pure monk with the awesome Ki generation. Very button mashy intensive i imagine.

Interesting! What weapon do you plan to use? I thought it was longswords, but didnt see the whirling steel strike. What made me think this was the fact that you had 30% bonus from GS which indicates a weapon. For some reason I don't think it's kamas

It would certainly be kamas but only equipped when in full defensive mode and possibly a different item set up for more offensive orientation with handwraps and still close to max healing amp.

I have run with quite a few of these healing amp pally multi-class builds and they all have been horrible. Why? Because they do horrible dps and on epics that just hurts. Can you up your strength some? any?

Not speaking for the OP, obviously, but I leave my HA build at home for epics. It's a different kind of build for when I want to do different things in DDO. It's still fun to pick up and play; not everything has to be specced to succeed in Epic. Especially when so many of us have so many other characters we can roll out.

If only i wrote down the number of quests and raids i've saved/solo'd :/ I do admit longswords hurt in autocrit but i got other toons for epics and i can always put them down for heavy picks.

don't the different levels of monk and human amp multiply with each other?

instead of monk / human being 30+30 for 60%
isn't each 10% multiplied? for something like 1.7something total?

This build just looks awesome to me, and Was really close to working it into my existing monk....

...then I looked at it again...and found out it's all dependent on extremely rare tomes and items, some epics, and a few greensteels that would take forever for me to craft...

Seeing as how I just don't have the guild/manpower to get this done, I let the dream of being epic like this pass.

    Hey inspire

For the intentions of the build I think ur set up is spot on. however... I can't help but feel these sorts of builds are solo friendly but a waste of a dps spot in most parties. Sure they have high healing amp and good ac saves etc but the offense is very weak. I dislike running with these builds in epic-maybe I'm missing something but how will u make this viable dps wise?

I would imagine the intim would allow the other dps to let rip at will with no worries. So that should solve the dps problem.

Actually, when Im in group with a healer and dont intend on intimidating I ditch most of the healing amplification in favor of dps. I haven't posted the gear quite yet a little busy at the moment to do so, but Ill have it up by tonight. To sum up, I use handwraps with tower rings(oremi's set & ravager ring) and charged gauntlets.

Strength isn't the issue really, but I can self buff strength fairly high with; rage, titan's grip, yugoloth strength, fire stance(though that is lowering dps, 7.5% doublestrike), and madstone.

For a total of 34-38 strength.

Seeing as how I just don't have the guild/manpower to get this done, I let the dream of being epic like this pass.
While this build is very tedious to make, I have the original 32 point version listed at the top of the post. It is still gear intensive as I consider myself a powergamer, if you like the build Im sure I can throw a version together that isnt so challenging to create.

Well handwraps are my main source of dps, and while the base damage isnt 2d10 or 2d12, 2d8 is respectable. Now Im not saying that when someone needs a dps spot in their group I jump on this character instead of my half-orc heavy pick barbarian or half-orc khopesh kensei, but this build will still contribute meaningful dps to the party.

This build can also stun most caster/reflex type mobs in epic fairly easily. However, the real dps comes from tower rings, wraps of endless light, ki strikes, smites, and the charged gauntlets.
