Unhappy What we *really* want...simply put

As simply put as possible: I've said it before in the past...all that those of us who care about looks really want is two armour slots, and two helmet slots. One is how you wish to look, the other is for functionality. Do that, and we'll be tons happier (once again, for those who care about such things).

Ex: Wizard has the Robe of Duality from The Catacombs in looks slot, because she likes the creepy look it has. She has a Dragontouched robe in functional slot for augmentation benefit.

That's about as succinct as I can put it. Heck, call it the trans-dimensional armour slot or something, and make us earn it (or buy from the store ).

Step in the right direction Devs, but in my opinion, this new set is more for a a group of folks who want to be uniform (like everyone in the guild wear this type ) and should be in addition to the above (though I do like seeing more skin from the new set...belly buttons! Let's bejewel them now!)

    What the heck?

Just create a NPC in armor shops to change the pieces or armor/clothing and color as you wish for a moderate price, and make that UI look like the one when you're designing your character's looks in the chracter creation thing

Who is this "we" you speak of? I've never heard of it and that sounds like a horrible idea.

Perhaps this is what "we" want

This is what I've heard suggested numerous times.

Wow...really? Nothing better to do than rain on my parade?

How about the "we" that have been asking for this since 2006? Does that "we" suit you?

I definitely said those who cared about how they looked in game. Those who don't, troll off.

I like that implimentation... It would give immediate access to any armor graphic currently in the system + whatever they add.

Not trolling in the slightest. Nor am I raining.

I've never heard of this "two-slot" suggestion. Never. Not even from those who care about what they look like in the game

And if it was suggested, those who do care about what they look like, have always pined for the customization like in the start up screen. No need for 2 slots when you could have this.

You are the only person whom I've seen want this. Hence the "who is "we"" statement.

    Sounds like a Cosmetic Slot.
It's not horrible, especially if they merged both ideas.
Have NPCs modify item appearance, and don the resulting gear as Cosmetic Wear.

    ...

BUT... yes, I do think Turbine is still tweaking its F2P mechanism, too.

I think the we refers to the op and the mouse in his pocket

this is the first time i have heard it mentioned in these forums (I could have missed it)
I have seen it in some of the Korean mmo's so its not a new idea per-say

Personally I would like to choose my armor design/look in a more detailed way like a silkscreen the more colors the more it costs only limited by your pocketbook and imagination

The simpler solution though, and the one I have seen argued for the most really is more like this:

I know it may be a pointless argument, but wouldn't you be carrying 2 armors, making your emcumbrance higher? (a very little higher)

That would be a very minor issue really, but the set up would be one of once placing an armor or robe etc in the cosmetic slot you could then put in the bank send it to another toon, sell it, keep it on ya, whatever.

But HOW can poor old Turbine profit from this method??

Just messing around. Its a good idea, one of many floating around almost all of them better than what Turbine has planned.

Just make the slot on the armor purchasable in the store... like it is now just you buy a blank instead of leaf 2 or whatever.

Of course this is just my opinion, but I like how they are doing it, and with time I am sure more options will open up. I do however only were robes and outfits on my characters, and I really like the options. If however I had any characters that wore heavy or medium armor, I would not be happy, as I cannot stand any of costumes.

    /signed. again.

simple. easy to implement. AND what the majority wanted...

but so far all you can say is 'at least they did SOMETHING'..... and then made a mess of it. because they couldnt figure out how to nickle and dime ppl to death that way.

Which really is starting to seem like the way things are done here.
