Thumbs up Over on the LOTRO Forums/Signatures

No, this is not an Off-topic question.

Over on the LOTRO Forums (also by Turbine) when you post something on the Forums, whether starting a thread or repling to someone else you can have in your signature a banner showing a representation of your character, their Race, Class, Level, Name, the server they play on and other points (it's Crafting and PVP Levels over there).

So I would like to know why we don't have these over here? It would be simple to introduce (both been run by Turbine) and they would be useful so that other Players could see your main toon and where you play.
These of course would be voluntary, if you don't want people knowing you In-Game and like any signature placed by you changable at any time.

Yes you can just type your own signature (and I intend to add one of my own soon), but the banner would stand out clearly for all to see.

There is this option. Due to the current issues with MyDDO, new signatures using this method are not displaying correctly. This will likely be fixed at the same time all other MyDDO-related issues get resolved.

It is available, however with MyDDO being...at odds with everything else, it may not show correctly. Mine wasn't before I decided not to use it.

Think of Turbine as the EU.

LOTRO is Germany and AC is France.

    Welcome to Greece.

DDO forums *do* have this function already! This is a setting that you change at-will:

To see other player's character signatures:
    1) Go to your UserCP control panel
    2) From the list on the left, select "Edit Options"
    3) Scroll down to "Thread Display Options"
    4) Turn "Show other character signatures" from No to Yes.
    5) Save Changes

To display your own signature for others to see:
    1) Go to your UserCP control panel
    2) From the list on the left, select "Edit Signature"
    3) Under the "Character Signatures" panel, click on the character whose information you would like to display.
    4) Save Signature

However, as others have noticed, the updated information may not show properly, which is why many people have them turned off.

btw, as much as we complain about the DDO forums, I've been playing LOTRO recently and the forums there are *much* more difficult to navigate.

They are quite the PITA aren't they? And you know... we'll be shoved to that **** format soon enough. *sigh*

    Post Thanks

Missing Minds Thanks for the link and Thank You to everyone else who replied.

Unfortunately the sort of banner I would like and to which Missing Minds has linked is connected to MYDDO, which I have to admitted has been broken for so long that I competely forgot it has a character record and based on the present MYDDO record the banners for my toons are wrong, by Level and the Guild for one is also wrong.

Thank anyway, maybe one day my idea will happen, just not now.
