I was testing the Pale Master (PM), Spell Like Abilities (SLA) and want to clarify the formula.
Assumption
- pure L20 wiz, PM3
- Use Superior Nhil (clickie or pots) only. Eardweller could add 25% (from +75% to +100%) to the base damage, but it lasts for 3 x 1 mins only.
As I understand, the formula should be:
- 1d6 x 20 caster level x (1 + 25% PM1 + 10% PM2 + 10% PM3 + 75% Superior Nihil = 220%)
- so the total damage in theory should be 44-264. (22-132 if the target made a save)
- let's assume 1d6 is implemented as 1d3+3, the total damage will be 176-264 (1d3+3 is suggected by CaptGrim and suggested in another guide)
The max crit chance should be +3% PM1 + 3% PM2 + 3% PM3 + 12% Epic Robe of Shadow. I don't concern the crit chance too much as we can't verify it anyway.
The max crit multiplier should be 1.5 + 0.5 Major Void Lore (e.g. Epic Robe of Shadow, Shroud of the Abbot). So the max crit damage should be 264x2 = 528
I tested the SLAs for a while with max damage gear and buff and the highest crit damage i have ever seen is 382 [updated], far from 528. Is it bugged? or the formula is wrong? or my sample size is too small?
